fishyguy
I have been wondering what the record for the yellow bullhead was. I released a yellow bullhead that was 17.5" last year on Osakis. I didn't realize how close I might have been.
Cooter
5lb black crappie is amazing! I held a 3.5lb crappie and couldn't believe how retardedly big it was. The 2lb13oz gill would floor me as well to see one in person! Didn't that bass record get replaced a year or so ago? That rock bass record is beatable! harvey lee
No doubt about the rock bass record.Probably 20 years ago my dad and my son were fishing on lake lizzie by pelican rapids. We hooked into a rock bass that we thought was all of 2.5 to 3#.I said boy is that a big rocker and threw it back.Later that year I saw the record size and said darn or something like that. Dave B
We released a 19 1/2" mooneye on the Miss last summer. If I had known the record was under 2lb, I likely would have brought it to a scale-it had some shoulders!
Ely Lake Expert
Ya, I have also caught several rockbass that I am pretty sure were over 2 pounds. I guess no one wants to be known as the guy with the state record rockbass.

Dan Thiem
A mooneye is a skinny fish that is a very shiney silver. It has big eyes like a crappie. Very sharp teeth too. I have heard them called skip-jacks also.
so haaad
Anyone else find it pretty funny that the "beautiful" lakes around Alexandria are the home to three state records? Those three are: brown bullhead, yellow bullhead and dogfish!
