Looking for a good ultralight combo.

I'm thinking about buying an ultralight combo. Was wondering what other FMers use. I want to get the most bang for my buck. (Under $100) Thanks

I have had an Eagle Claw featherlight for about 10 years now, I like it alot. I is the 6ft ul model. Cast real far due to the lenght and has a nice slow action. I have caught sunnies, crappies, perch, lm bass, sm bass, walleyes, northerns, bowfin, bullheads, brown trout, brook trout, artic grayling, and carp of it. Runs around 25 bucks so you can get a nice $75 shimano to put on it.

My favorite is my 6' St. Croix Premier UL rod with the 750 Shamino Symetre reel. $160-$170

I also love my 5'6" Berkley Lightning UL rod with a Shamino Sahara 750 on it. $80-$90

Do you even have enough time to use the rods you already have ?

Ganders gudie series are decent for the money. I think I spent $40 + on the rod so it gives about $50 for whatever reel you choose.

I totally agree with Tyler.I have both rods along with a few more and the Berkley Ul is a pretty good rod at a little less money.

I saw a Rapala series rod at Gander that was a nice untralight. Also I have a Diawa ultralight thats nice but cant remember the exact name on it. Try the new St.Croix line they look ok for the $.

Ugly stick ultralight and a Shimano spirex reel - Right at $100 and a great combo> Have had mine for 10 years without a problem.

My wife has a Shimano Compre ultra light rod (CPS-56ULA) that is teamed up with a Tica Cetus SB500 reel; it's a great combination and should come in at $120, slightly over you budget but a great rod/reel combination. I use the same reel and an St. Croix Avid Ultralight rod wich is more expensive but in some ways I prefer the Shimano rod.
