I can second that thought Deitz!! For the past two years I have fished the frankie's events out there. Sad to say that my partner and I finished 27th this year and 28th last year frown.gifmad.gif. A little side note .... I was out pre-fishing the other day and by a fluke chance I caught a couple nice walleyes .... mmmm they are going to taste good grin.gif.

You gotta dig the small boats! I have a 16 ft 1985 smoker craft w/ a 30hp motor. Trying to be humble, but prove a point, I'm in 1st place for angler of the year in my club so far this year, the little boats get into the little areas!

I will not be in this boat for the tournament, we are using my friends boat, this may be a bad omen grin.gif

Im really looking forward to tomorrow and meeting and learning some new things from the people here at FM. Should be very fun!

Is everyone cool with everything for tomorrow? I'll check the site and my email around 8:00 PM tonight for any last minute questions. Make sure you all fill out the form I emailed the team captains. And, read the rules one more time.

See you tomorrow. About 21 hours from now we'll know who the best bass fisherman at FM.com is...on Forest Lake...on August 12th, 2006...for the conditions that are presented to us. In other words, I'll grant you bragging rights until Monday morning.

Well it was a blast as you can imagine, all I have to post is this pic of our large fish, although they said it did not count, it was caught shallow and on a comida. I will let Ray or Dietz do the acutaly posting of weights.

Just got back home.. and Ray has the official results.. it was a very fun time... I know I ended up in 5th place.. with 11.82 lbs.. I know 4th has 11.90 pounds.. The winner was bob downy(st.croixfishn) and his partner Sam Rada, a huge congrats to them.. well deserved!!!!.. i talked with them and they will be writing up what they did to catch their fish...

Ray Esboldt and his brother got 2nd...

3rd was Jeff Audette(Chisago Dock Sitter)

I got my fish throwing a Rapala DT7, boated about 8 fish in about 15 mins early in the tournament.. I managed to cull a few fish on docks and then again out deep on cranks... I fished isolated weed clumps in 7-9 feet of water. SOunds like the winning weights came shallow!

Th winds were bad, gusting to 20+ MPH if I had to guess at times..

Great job by all.. I had a wonderfull time, it was so great to meet so many people that I now call family on the boards here.. Slyster,if you would please... post that pict we took at the end!

Also.. Mr.Downy.. check out your new FM title when you post... hope you do not mind!

Look under your name on the left hand side... wink.gif

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
