Luck e 1
Can anyone recommend a good one? I am wondering if the battery operated is better than the plug in (or visa versa). I see that the Rapala has a kit that comes with different plug ins/gator clips...ANything you can suggest would be appreciated.
0 clam up
i started out using the Mr. Twister. After a couple of those, I've switched to the Rapala knife with the adapters. It comes with 2 sizes of blades and is pretty reasonably priced. So far so good.....and works well cleaning sunnies & crappies too!

0 Luck e 1
Thanks guys. I will probably go with the Rapala since it has the adaptors. For those that have the battery rapala...does it hold its charge well?
0 Northlander
I like my Rapala electric the best because I can charge it in my house or in the cig lighter adaptor in my truck. The cordless rechargable is the way to go. My Mr. Twister would get very hot when using for a long time like on a bunch of Perch. The Rapala and American Angler electrics I have havent done that. 0 BAIT956
I have two American Angler plug in types. The older one, an American Angler Ultra, I have had for years with no problems. A couple of years ago I got an American Angler MT3, with a metal transmission. Both work great and take Mister Twister replacement blades of different sizes. Unless you are cleaning somewhere without electricity, plug-ins will work fine.
0 walleyeaddict
I also have an american angler...I have cleaned probably 700 eyes and perch with the plug in and probably 200 with the rechargeable..great knives!!!
0 hugonian1
I have the Rapala kit also and love it. All the adaptors and cords, etc. come in handy for other uses also which is a bonus.
0 Luck e 1
Is it worth the extra $45 dollars to get the rechargeable cordless? I see that the Rapala cordless is around $80, while the one with the differnent adapters is around $40, and the one with only the plug in is around $30ish (I think). I am trying to figure out if the costs outweigh the benefits.

0 Borch
I've had the amercan angler utra for 3 years now. Prior to that I had an Mr. Twister, Rapala and another knide I forget the name of at the moment. Each last 1-2 years. So far this one has best up to the task. Then again maybe I just had bad luck with the others.
0 Markerboy1
I have the Rapala cordless and was very impressed with the battery life after cleaning 50 walleyes for or group over opening weekend on two batteries. The cordless runs much cooler than the Twister. Money well spent in my book
