Read Any Good Books Lately?

Recommended Posts

More often than not, I find myself asking question after question after question, and I'm beginning to feel like (and probably sound like) a 3-year old saying "why" "why" "why"....

I appreciate all the great responses, answers and suggestions, but is there any really good, educational and informational walleye books out there that I could pick up and then just "shut-up" and read? Good books on the lifestyle and biology of walleyes? And anyone know where I could pick these books up at?

Thanks...and sorry for the additional questions, again! smirk.gif

Gunflint already beat me to the punch but I have to say both books are excellant. I had my critical concepts out last night and was noodling them. Covers all aspects of walleye fishing in great detail. Everything you need to know and alot more!

I wish I didn't have time to read. Problem is, I get up between 6:00 and 6:30am for work, then when I get home from work, I'm helping out with kids and house stuff until 9:00pm, then I finally get time to myself. And for whatever reason, I have a tough time getting tired at night and am usually up until midnight or later each night of the week. So, I thought it would be nice to use that "alone" time at night to read some good books on 'eyes and learn something about them instead of always bothering people with questions. I don't like to not know (if that makes any sense). smirk.gif

"Walleye Wisdom" from In-Fisherman covers the Fundamentals of walleye fishing. Covers everything you are looking for and then some, considered the walleye bible. Then move on to the Critical Concepts series. Then the videos.

That should keep you busy for a while.

Anything by Vince Flynn is always good... if you aren't talking reading about fishing...

AS far as fishing reading goes... MTNet gave me a ton of old In-Fisherman mags, so I've been reading those a lot lately... some techniques in there that might have been cutting edge in 1987 or so, but I know that personally I've gone away from some of them. So I'm going to give a few a try this year, just to see if maybe they're something that the fish haven't seen in a while... might be fun to relearn some of them now that I'm 20 years older and ahve some more experience to add to what I was doing back then as a 17 year old...I do know that one of those techniques came in real handy last night on a small metro lake for some bucketmouths... so hopefully the walleye stuff will be just a good!
