MMMMM Plastics

Recommended Posts

Mister Twister has set-up a specail offer, 20% off of retail for Fishing Minnesota. Check out the 9" Crystal Shads and the Lizards. Both are great musky plastics. Plus they have many smaller versions that I use to tip behind bucktails and crankbaits to give them more action.

Check it out- Mister Twister

Those are some sweet looking plastics! Work those big shad baits thru the milfoil pockets on 'tonka and look out! Picked up a pack of the RED and another of the BLACK, plus a few other goodies!

The most common practice is to use a muskie style jig like the Stick-Ums, J-Mac or other jigs with heavy wire hooks in the 1/2 -1 1/4 oz sizes 5/8 -7/8 are the most common. Place the plastic on the jig sideways or horizontal. What this does it create a plane action and slows the fall rate of the jig and mimics the sideways swimming action of dying shiners, ciscoes and walleye. You will have to play around with the weight of the jig until you find one that falls nice and slow.

Toss it up onto the rock reefs or weed edges and hop it out until the break line then hold your rod tip up and let is do a pendulum type swing out into deeper water.

I love this presentation in the fall and during cold front conditions.

If you have the casting ability and the paitence you can toss them wieghtless into heavy weed cover or woody conditions and do "the shake". Flip the bait into a hung up musky or one that you are sight fishing and let it fall slowly (hopefully the hook is heavy enough to sink it)then shake the end of your rod tip creating a tremoring bait that will rise when you do this. Work it towards the boat and do this every three feet or so.

I also have used them in super sized Texas and Carolina rigs.
