Dano_the_jigasaurus
Just wondering if anyone has experience with the Minnekota Co-pilot as I am looking at putting one on my Minnkota Autopilot this summer. Thanks Dano
0 TSCTSC
I love it. Some people do too. But there are some who prefer the foot pedal as they do not have to use their hand to control the motor. Also easy to install.
0 RonT
I've had mine for two years and love it. Wouldn't think of going back a foot control.
0 zepman
Have one and love it also. Have not even used my foot control since I've had it.
0 Rost
The co-pilot is the slickest thing since sliced bread and here's why...No, it's not so you can strap it on your rod handle Trolling cranks! That's right, trolling! Start your kicker up, point it straight forward and let your bowmount do the steering. We were weaving through trees last weekend with ease. It also makes it easier to troll into the wind while the auto pilot is on. I'm sure people were looking at us wondering how we were steering the boat with both of us standing there with our hands in our pocket. It is the best way troll in my opinion. 0 TSCTSC
WAIT A MINUTE!!!!! WAIT A MINUTE THERE!!!!!You mean that you can steer with the bow mount with the kicker on????I did not know that!!! Oh my...that is so cool!!! I am going to try it. Any tips on how to do it right, first time????

0 Rost
Okay, I sense a bit of sarcasm here Are you trying to tell me that others know about this little trick too? No way! Anyways, the reason I mentioned it was that when some people consider the co pilot, they may not think about using it this way. But yeah, you are right, my previous post sounded like I was trying to sell the Gazzelle.
0 TSCTSC
No no no ...there is no sarcasm. I really did not know it. It is a really cool thing. Thanks for posting!
0 AQUAJOE
This will be my 4th year with it. It is awesome and wouldn't go with out it. I wear as a watch. I didn't like it on my rods. I change rods alot. I do have one complaint. The watch tan line from it is rather unsitely.
0 moby1
I bought one a month ago then sold the boat. I didnt sell the copilot though. I used it a couple of timmes and it is the cats pajamas. IF you really want to get people looking you can use it from the dock while loading or unloading the boat with no one in the boat. Talk about some funny looks especially if the guy watching has had a few barley pops in him. Unfortunately my new used boat came with a crappy old motorguide trolling motor. Hopefully next year I will get another minnkota that I can use it on.
