It's Finally Here!

Question

I've been waiting since October for my new 25 hp Yamaha. It came today. cool.gif However after I opened the box I discovered that there was no fuel tank. mad.gif I called the dealer and asked why there was no fuel tank and they said that Yamaha doesn't include tanks in the deal. I calmly explained, (those that know me call me cupcake) that it would be nice if they would mention that to their customers before letting them drive 300 miles home. Anyway I ordered an after market tank. Hopefully it will be here before the ice is off the lake. That should be Tuesday or Wednesday at the current rate. It's always something. tongue.gif

It's always a treat to pick up new equipment, even when little things throw wrench into it. Oh well. But, no fuel tank? I suspect that must be normal operation these days.

Have fun with your new motor!

You will defintely enjoy that motor! I picked up a one year old used Yamaha 25 HP 4 stroke, and I have been extrememly impressed. A whole lot more power than the 15 year old Merc 25 that I was runnin!

My Dad's 25 hp Yamaha 4 stroke just came in also, he didn't get a new tank either!

Does anyone know what you're suppose to use in the gas to keep it from breaking down? With his old 2 stroke he used Seafoam or Sta-bil in the gas. He doesn't use his motor all that much. Maybe with the new electric start that will change.

He also would run his 2 stroke dry if he wasn't going to use it for a few weeks or more. Should you run a 4 stroke 25 hp Yamaha dry if you are not going to use it for a few weeks to a month?

New to this 4 stroke world and would love some help.

Yamaha sells a product, I think it's called "Ring Free" that they recommend. We are fortunate up here in that we can still get real gas and don't have to add to it in order to make our equipment run properly.

Sounds like yours came in on the same order mine did Gunflint. My 200 Yammy came in on the 13th I believe without a gas can of course.

My suprise situation brought me a motor with the wrong shaft length. confused.gif

New one should finally be here on Friday. smirk.gif
