Just a reminder to all you fellow sportsmen and women.

Only ONE walleye over 20 inches this year state wide (on top of whatever slot is on your particular lake).

Oh! and it's 40 inches for Muskie this year too. (one Over 40 can be kept)

i thought the regs read that one over 20 if there are not already a special reg on the body of water. so if a lake has a slot of 18-22 then you could keep your limit over 20 inchs. did anyone else read it this way?

I think I agree with fish2live here. I havent heard of anything being put on top of our 2 eyes over 15" on the St.Louis. Better read the regs again I guess.

• Only one walleye over 20 inches now allowed in daily and possession

limits for inland waters (page 15). See also page 15.

Seems clear to me that it's regardless of any slot. Actually it goes hand in hand with many slots... for example on Leech it really doesn't change any thing where all walleye between 18 and 26 must be released, so still you can only keep one over 26.

I believe that there was a correction and that you can have 6 over 20 inches in posession as long as they were caught on different days.

Fishing Regulations clarifications (2006-02-07)

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources issued the following clarifications for the 2006 Fishing Regulations handbook:

- Using whole or parts of game fish, goldfish or carp for bait is unlawful in Minnesota. Goldfish are incorrectly included in the definition of minnows on page 4.

-One walleye over 20 inches is allowed in a daily limit. More than one walleye over 20 inches is allowed in possession if the fish are caught on subsequent days. The information on page 5 is incorrect.

That's all that I can find on this one. Don't forget, though, local regulations on a particular lake, such as a slot limit of 17"-26" overrides the state length limits.

I really cannot see the big difference here, my personal slot is that all eyes over 20" go back. Generally these are the females, unless I end up with one thats over 30" for the wall. Catch Photo and Release Its the way of the future.

Hold on now... So when the slot on Mille Lacs opens up to 0 to 22 inches mid summer, you can only have one fish over 20 inches per person???
