Fish house show and tell?

It is. I also use it in my bedroom, so it's not exclusive to the fish house. It's nice, but the best thing in the house is the MP3 capable cd player. 1 disc, 300 songs+ and not having to monkey around to get some tunes is very, very nice.

Just got done with putting on some fresh poly and adding some cupboards. I want to add 2 boats seats before fall, looking for some deals over the summer.

Dont tell my wife its a fish house not a camper tongue.gif

Couldnt see the dust when I was in the house but the pictures sure does show it. I brushed the walls with poly but sprayed the ceiling. Luckily the overspary dried before hitting the floor. Note to self. use drop clothes.

The table folds out to a double bunk aswell if needed.

Its been alot of fun getting this the way I wanted it. Problem is everytime I complete one project I find 2 or 3 more.!!

Nice fish house! The calender is a nice touch wink.gif

I'm going to organize another "Portable Fish House Modification Get Together" this year, and I'm going to include drop-down fish houses too. This way people can bring along their drop-down fish houses for show and tell as well as their portables.

It'll probably be sometime this summer and we're tentively planning it to be held out at Art Barbarians located right next to Cabela's in Rogers... I'll keep everyone posted...

Lazydayz, It looks like you have the RV style windows in your shack. Do you have a problem with them icing up? I have them in mine also and have had a terrible problem with condensation and icing. I am going to tear apart the inside this summer and see what I can do for more insulation and was considering replacing the windows with some regular thermo pane.

To be honest I only had this house on the ice one time late in the season on LOW. It was freazing out but not frigid.

I guess I dont have enough expierance with it to tell yet. I hope not...

matt, i am glad to hear you are expanding the get-together to pull-behinds. i just bought my first pull behind fishhouse this spring. it doesnt have a thing in it so i will be fixing it up this summer, i am always loking for ideas. what i am trying to say is sooner is better than later for me, in order to do it right the first time! 9i have dreamed of owning one for years and finally said screw it and took out a high-intrest loan and did it. payments are a bummer but hey, i got a fish house! i will look for dates of the upcoming event.

Lazydayz,

I like your design of the side mounted bunks with the cables hanging from the ceiling. Never seen that one before. Do those bunks have hinges mounted on the bottom or do they just hang from the walls when they're in the upright position?

Also is your house a full 8 feet wide so the wheels crank up inside those shelves on the side of your house?

Love that house! Obviously a lot of time and care has gone into it. I'd be interested in seeing exterior pics too.

Well beer batter and others, while I would like to take credit for the entire thing I can not. While I have done a ton of modifications to it, the core layout of the house was not made by me. I purchased it finished.

Yes there are hinges on the bottom & yes full 8' wide.

The cables do not carry much weight. The bunk resting on the countertop and hinges carry most of it.

    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
    • I haven’t done any leaf springs for a long time and I can’t completely see the connections in your pics BUT I I’d be rounding up: PB Blaster, torch, 3 lb hammer, chisel, cut off tool, breaker bar, Jack stands or blocks.   This kind of stuff usually isn’t the easiest.   I would think you would be able to get at what you need by keeping the house up with Jack stands and getting the pressure off that suspension, then attack the hardware.  But again, I don’t feel like I can see everything going on there.
    • reviving an old thread due to running into the same issue with the same year of house. not expecting anything from yetti and I already have replacement parts ordered and on the way.   I am looking for some input or feedback on how to replace the leaf springs themselves.    If I jack the house up and remove the tire, is it possible to pivot the axel assembly low enough to get to the other end of the leaf spring and remove that one bolt?   Or do I have to remove the entire pivot arm to get to it? Then I also have to factor in brake wire as well then. What a mess   My house is currently an hour away from my home at a relatives, going to go back up and look it over again and try to figure out a game plan.           Above pic is with house lowered on ice, the other end of that leaf is what I need to get to.   above pic is side that middle bolt broke and bottom 2 leafs fell out here is other side that didnt break but you can see bottom half of leaf already did but atleast bolt is still in there here is hub assembly in my garage with house lowered and tires off when I put new tires on it a couple months ago. hopefully I can raise house high enough that it can drop down far enough and not snap brake cable there so I can get to that other end of the leaf spring.
    • Chef boyardee pizza from the box!
    • Or he could go with leech~~~~~
    • Bear can relate too. Tell Leech to start a new account named Leech5, we'll know who he is.If he has any trouble, Bear can walk him through it.
