Boat Trailers

Yacht Club, Shorlander, Karavan, & any others out there.

What are your thoughts' opinions, or actual experiences with the various trailers and what would you prefer, as a roller trailer.

Moderation, Shorlander is all I know from experience and really like this trailer. I trailer a lot and it loads and unloads with ease. What size boat are you talking here?

Looking at an 18' Lund Fisherman. I've had Holsclaw, Northwood, Built Rite, and anothers, never had much trouble but I just don't know what trailer is the best now.

I'd go for a shoreland'r as well...

They stand up better over the years, and don't start squeaking like a ez loader... plus, IMHO, they load the best when set up properly as compared to any other roller trailer...

I've owned a few Shorelander roller trailers and they've been great. Wouldn't hesitate to but another.

I have here a Tabban trailer, which is made by Tabban Trailers a mfg of many types of trailers, and I have to admit I am very impressed the way it's built. Very good quality trailer.

I always liked Shorelandr but I changed my mind after this, if you do a search check their web site, or find a dealer to inspect one.

[ i have a 1500# dilly trailer i put new 12 inch tires on what clearence should there be between the tire and the fender? any other info on dilly would be helpful castindad

Certain manufacturers are now coming out with trailers that are coated with products like Rhino-liner or Herculiner. Defineately worth checking into if you're buying a trailer. I'm not sure which ones it is, but those products would be great to have on the trailer frame. They all seemed to get dinged up by rocks and get rusty in just 3-4 years. I might even try doing a Herculiner coating on my trailer frame soon, it worked great on my truck bed.

I've owned 2 shorelander roller trailers with no problems. My Dad also has had shorelander trailers.

surfacetension how much space between the tire and the fender should there be on a dill 1500# trailer? alowing for bumpy roads? thankscastindad

I had a Karavan on my last boat and you literally couldn't give me one. Probles witht the strap, brakes, rollers, fenders, lights, and frame. all in the first 3 years from being new.

Shorelander is all I have ever owned and would not choose any other brand- zero problems for many years running...

I've had two Shoreland'r trailers and they've been great. The only problem I've had is the trailer bottoming out on my current setup when I used some questionable ramps. Other than that I haven't had any problems. I didn't even have to add or change the bearing grease on the previous trailer and that was inspected yearly.
