Marcum and universal sonar

Am I correct in understanding that the Minn kota universal sonars still don't work with the Marcums? I want to upgrade my trolling motor but kind of want to try and wait it out if they will have one shortly. Anyone in the know out there?

Do any flashers work with a universal sonar? I always see everyone running a seperate ducer.

Good question, I have no first hand experience myself...I already have the transducer so I guess its really no big deal. Just trying to eliminate one wire at a time.

Minnkota has an adapter for a Vexilar so flashers must work. I bet somebody could make one to work.

I emailed Marcum last year about this and they said they gave the spec's to MinnKota but MinnKota wasn't planning on building a plug for the Marcum. So then I emailed MinnKota and got the same answer. Not enough market demand or something to that effect. We need more people to email MinnKota to put pressure on them to make the plug for the Marcum.

I have a universal sonar cable for my Vexilar FL-18.

They have been out since Minn-Kota made the universal sonar motors.

Currently, there is no cable made for the Marcum units.

Dang it! I just bought a new boat yesterday and I got universal sonar on the trolling motor so I could mount my Marcum on the bow. I assumed it would work, figures...

Couldn't Marcum invest the money and marketing into the adapter on their end?
