Mapcreate 6.3 vs lakemaster chip

picksbigwagon

Question

After reading the websites of lowrance and lakemaster, it sounds like both pieces of software get me the same things essentially. I am wondering if getting the H2O plus package is worth the extra 100 bucks if I am getting the lakemaster mn chip.....

The Lakemaster MN chip has the Mapcreate information for Minnesota. If you only do things in MN than you don't need MapCreate. I got the Mapcreate with my Ifinder because I wanted more detailed maps than the base map provides for hunting in the Dakotas and also traveling the country on family vacations. The point of interest information is very nice for finding wayside rests for bio breaks, restaurants, gas stations, etc. Plus with the cardreader it is very easy to update the gps's software when updates come out.

Not even close!

Mapcreate gives you they ability to create custom maps for your unit on your PC it's a great tool and I would highly recommend it.

Contact Jollyann marine. Shipping is free, no sales tax, you'll have the unit in a couple of days and Wade's prices are great. They are in Iowa. I bought my H20 with the lakemaster chip from him. He was running a deal for FMers a few weeks back on the site so tell him you are on FM.

Buy the Navionics north 2006 chip at least then if they come out with something new in a couple years they offer a chip buy back program so you can purchase the updated one.

Good idea, I didn't think of this and I didn't know that Lakemaster didn't do this. it would really make me mad if I got a new LM chip and they updated it a couple years later.
