JohnMickish
Does anyone know if someone in the metro sells these blankets? I think this might be the answer to getting some kind of insulation on the sides of a portable.

0 gunflint
I may be way off here but I believe the theory of the survival blankets is to trap body heat when wrapped around a person. I don't know how well they would work as open space insulation. Might block the wind though.
0 JohnMickish
I'm just thinking to put up another layer to block the wind and maybe reflect some light/heat around. Thats probably the best I can hope for but anything is better than nothing on the walls.
0 Macgyver55
Have you thought about using the foil style insulation that kind of looks like bubble wrap? We used it on our deer shack. Its about a half inch thick and is unaffected by moisture and is real easy to work with. Give it a look!
0 JohnMickish
Yes, I've got the foil stuff over the top, front and back but it won't fold in on the sides, that's why I'm going to try the other stuff there. Flexibility.
0 metrojoe
What's that stuff called? Is this the same insulating material that's available at Menard's?I thought there was another topic on this, but I couldn't find it.

0 Gadgetman
Mnfishingguy, the one you want to use is available at cabelas. I have one in the ceiling of my Voyager and it works great for reflection heat and light just as you suspected. They have a silvery side and the back side is made out of some material similar to the blue tarp type stuff so they dont rip like the very small blankets that you can put in your pocket. I tried one of them and it froze to the side of the house and ripped when I set it up the next time.
