One of the absolute best trail cam pics I have ever seen

I got this from a coworker.

Here is the story that was with the email:

Here's a pretty cool picture from one of my customers. He went to change the disc in his camera he has set up by his deer stand. He had a buck decoy set up nearby to lure them in, but the decoy was about 50yds from where he left it, and was wedged in under a pine tree.

So, he changed the disc, and looked at the pictures. He was there at 12:30 this past Monday, and the camera got this shot 25 minutes earlier!

OK-

Hate to be a naysayer here but I don't buy it.

1st- How does a trail camera work? Number one is motion. That one is no problem with me. The camera detected motion of a deer and took a photo.

2nd- Time delay between photos? Here's where I'm sketchy because of my unfamiliartiy with digital trail cameras. How quickly would you time a digital to take photos? Every 5 seconds, 10 seconds, 30 seconds, 50 seconds, 1 minute, etc...

Maybe I'm right, but I'm probably wrong. I want to see the before and after photos of this "sequence" of photos or else it is talk. There is no way that buck could have "snuck in" on the decoy, attacked it, and then had the photo taken at that exact moment of disgust. If photoshopped, I commend the author.

Please prove me wrong because that is an awesome shot! I can believe alot of things but I can also believe that camera snapped a shot as that deer was coming into view and than waited another minute to shoot another shot, thus missing the shot we see here.

I can see your skepticism.

I am not 100% sure about it either.

But owning several cameras this is VERY possible.

Digitals are slower to react. Period.

If that buck was staged out to the side of the pic or even straight out aways, once he makes his move to attack, he aint gonna tip-toe in and then attack. He is gonna come full steam. By the time digitals get the motion sensed so it can power up the camera, a couple seconds can pass easily. Then it takes several seconds for the camera to take the second shot. This deer would be way out of the frame for a second pic if he was running.

I think its real. He has the aggresive look. Ears back, snot stream coming out of his nose(yes, I had to shrink the photo size to post it), and his body position is clearly on the move.

I agree, its an awesome pic and if it is fake, dump. But if its real, WOW!

If its fake, I still give it a WOW!

Here is a perfect example of "How did this deer get in such perfect position to get a photo?" I have no flippin clue, but I gaurantee you I didnt photoshop this one. And its the only pic I got of this deer during this event.

Another thing to note is the stakes on the decoy.

They are definitely bent and even blurred from what looks to be the motion of the decoy moving upwards.

If it is photoshopped, the bent stakes are a good call for the editing.

Looking at this pic, that would be the most fabulous full body mount EVER including the decoy. If I take out my entertainment center, this would look pretty awesome there.

I do value your judgement as you are definitely at the top of the heap here as far as trail camera photos go.

Thats why I DO believe the photo is real. (and simply an awesome one at that!!)

On the otherhand, I do know what I can do with Photoshop if I REALLY feel like it and know that a photo like this could be duplicated with alot of effort. Being that it was sent to you via e-mail from a friend (Hate to say it but we all know how e-mail works), I become a wee bit leary of it.

With that said, I'd love to see it proved one way or the other. I also agree with the other points you just mentioned as well.

One thing I noticed was the cuddeback logo on the bottom right screen of the picture... does it show on every picture or is it taken off from the cuddeback HSOforum?

Quackaddict9- I agree as well and was one of my first thoughts. Do all CuddeBack cameras produce an image like this one. Whether it is photo #1 or photo #99.

I wondered about that too, and I went to the Cudde HSOforum and didnt find this particular pic.

They have pics from users posted there that also have that emblem. So I figured it must be some logo that goes on the pics. Some of the posted pics didnt have it either.

All I can add to this is that I've had a doe archery target completely destroyed by a buck. I didn't see it, but the head was at least 30 feet away and the body was pushed along the ground about 20 feet. Horn marks indicate he spent quite some time at it. There were clear bite marks too. Guess she didn't perform for him? Still no way to treat a lady.
