tunrevir
Gordo may have some competition, Robby G is buying DEI power now so he might be a darkhorse going into next year. The Edster could prove to be a force and we cannot forget about Busch Jr.Tunrevir~
VMS
I would Highly doubt that Robby G will be anywhere near the top through the year. Even though he is now buying DEI engines, he still needs to race the car. I will admit, I am not a Robby G fan, but he causes a few wrecks through the year because he gets bull headed, or gets impatient and makes a careless move that takes others out of the race. I think if anyone is going to have a good year next year, I think it will be Bobby Labonte. Going to Petty's 43 will not only be a treat, but he will help that team out. For him, the change is a treat in itself.Anybody notice that Mark Martin did not seem all that happy about next year? He said nothing of being excited to come back, but he hoped the crew stays together...Steve
lawdog
No I don't think you got carried away...looks about right to me! By the way, where did the 24 vs. 8 thread go? Seems Jeff went up several spots and Jr. down several spots after that started... 11th and 19th I believe they ended up!!!
tunrevir
I agree with you on Robby Gordon he does need to drive the car and finish the race as well as treat the other drivers better. My point was that going into daytona with DEI power in his car might help him to run up front. I am going to wait and see what Bobby Labonte can do with Petty equipment. Any predictions for next years chase?Tunrevir~
eyepatrol
Hey lawdog... Why do you suppose it is that Jeff and his team, for the most part, sucked all year long, but when Loomis left and Steve took over for the final 10 races, Jeff did good. Especially on the 1.5 mile tracks...that's where he was hurting the most until the 10-race chase. Is it that Loomis just couldn't figure out what was going on and Steve knew what to do, or do you think Loomis just didn't have his heart into it and didn't put forth much of an effort to find a solution? Just seems rather odd to me what had occurred during the "regular season" as compared to the "playoffs". Any thoughts? By the way...I'm really looking forward to next year with how things ended up for Gordon this year. Should be an interesting season. Should be interesting with all the other changes on other teams too...old friendships turning to new rivalries perhaps for some teams??
harvey lee
I do believe that next year there will be two more contenders for the chase, one for sure being Gordon and I think Jr if he can get his --- together and also the whole team.I think that they could maybe replace a couple of Rousch teams. eyepatrol
I agree. I wouldn't be too surprised to see Kahne in the mix either, or at least contending for a spot. Sophomore seasons always seem to be tough. Just to throw one other darkhorse out there, I wouldn't be too surprised to see DJ in the mix either, that is, if he can keep from getting into tussels with Newman.
