Matt Johnson
Today’s Tackle has come out with a few new products for the 2005/2006 ice fishing season… The Rod Rocker 2 Last year Bruce Mosher (Owner and innovator of Today’s Tackle) came out with the Rod Rocker, now this year he’s taken it to another level and created another option for making life easier for ice anglers. The Rod Rocker 2 is a relatively simple piece of equipment, and anyone can use it (not to mention on any desired specie as well). You can rig it up on the front lip of the tub of your portable fish house (like shown below by drilling a couple holes for the two stems of the Rod Rocker 2 to rest in)… Or you can drill two holes into a 2x8 piece of wood and use the Rod Rocker 2 for running and gunning will you’re out hole hopping. The Rod Rocker 2 not only acts as a rod holder, but functions as a strike indicator as well. When a fish grabs the bait and pulls, the rod tip will drop with ease, allowing not only you to see the bite, but the fish feels very little resistance in return. Same goes for when a fish grabs the bait and rises up with it, which will cause the rod tip to rise or you’ll see slack in the line, but either way the fish won’t feel much, if any resistance. And we all know that on some days, that can make the difference between a day of fishing and a day of catching. You also don’t have to be afraid of leaving your rod outside of arms reach, because a fish can’t pull it in the water when it’s resting in the Rod Rocker 2. The way the rod rests on the Rod Rocker 2 won’t allow that to happen. So when all is said and done, the Rod Rocker 2 has four purposes. One, it acts a rod holder. Two, it acts as a strike indicator. Three, it’s a security measure for keeping your second/deadstick rod out of the water. And four, it helps you catch more fish!! Tackle Pouches This year, you’re going to be able to stay more organized while out on the ice. How? With the new Tackle Pouches from Today’s Tackle. Another product designed to make the ice angler’s job easier; the Tackle Pouches are meant to keep things neat and organized, as well as more productive while out on the ice. Coming in three different sizes, the Tackle Pouches will allow you to store all your ice flies, jigs, hooks, jigging spoons, bobber stops, etc, in nice and compact cases. These are great for those times when you want to find the glow red jigs amongst the pile of other colors, or when you want a new hook to re-tie a rig that just got broken off when it’s freezing outside and you don’t feel like tinkering around with bare hands trying to grab that tiny hook. The Tackle Pouches have easy-to-grab tabs so there is no frustration and guesswork when trying to grab tiny ice flies and accessories. It makes sorting colors and sizes very easy. I know I’ll be carrying several Tackle Pouches in my pockets while hole hopping for pannies this winter. Take a few jigs and go, it’s that easy! And now I won’t get the jigs caught and snagged up in my pockets Enclosed in a clear casing and lined with Velcro around the entire outer edge, these Tackle Pouches are easy to see into and they close tightly, which will keep what’s inside from falling out. The Tackle Pouches also double as hook-containers/protectors for jigs and lures already tied onto your rod… So as you can see, there are several uses for the Tackle Pouches. Staying organized has jumped to the next step, and things just keep getting easier for ice anglers!! (Bruce Mosher’s organized beauty ) I’ve always been a huge fan of Today’s Tackle. Why? Mainly because they design products that truly cater to the ice angler with the emphasis on being more productive while out on the ice, yet you won’t dent your pocketbook if you wish to get your hands on some. They are easy to use and they get the job done. You can honestly be outfitted with the just about the whole line of Today’s Tackle ice gear for less than what it costs in gas to drive to the lake Today’s Tackle consists of simple techniques and tools that simply do one thing… help you catch more fish!! hanson
I can already see that I'm stocking up on some Tackle Pouches for this winter. I tend to get pretty picky with how my tackle and gear is organized and I see that I need some Tackle Pouches.#1- For my larger jigging spoons such as Scenic Tackle Angel Eyes and larger sized Swedish Pimples. I hate spending good money on good tackle and having the tackle bounce around in my tackle box and getting tangled together. I've found some neat & nifty ways to organize some of my tackle (example- fly boxes) but have been stumped on a good idea for my larger spoons. Problem solved Bruce! Great idea!#2 Jigging Rapala's & Chubby Darters. I haven't found a slick way to store these babies yet. You want your Chubby Darters protected when they are costing you $6 a pop. Can I get the larger Chubby's into a Tackle Pouch??#3 Protecting lures tied onto my rods already. Awesome idea!! I have the hardest time when I put my rods in rod cases. If the lure has a treble hook on it, it WILL get snagged!!! I don't care what brand of rod case, sharp treble hooks get snagged in stuff. These Tackle Pouches will solve that problem!! Put a Tackle Pouch around the lure and throw the rod in the case. No worries. Thanks Bruce! Awesome, innovative products as usual to make us better, more organized ice fisherman. So very soon you can pick these up.Thanks, Bruce Mosher
Dennis Steele
I got a sneak peak at these products this past weekend.Talk about cool!I can really see where the tackle pouches could come in handy. They will really help prevent tangles in your rod bags.I'm going to pick up a couple for hanging on my rods and a couple bigger ones for stuffing a few lures into my pockets when "trolling".The rod rocker is also a great idea. Ive been using a similar product for a few years now, but its kind of bulky. Today's rod rocker looks a lot easier to store.

CrappieJohn
They work great! I have tried one on a rod with a stinger jig tied on, tossed the whole nine yards in a closet and jostled it around and no snag-ups at all! These tackle pouches are sweet! I also put some of the tackle pouches on my rods and loaded the rest up with tackle. I,m usually the last person waiting for ice as I fish the river through December, but I'm just a little anxious now. Can't wait to put this stuff to use! Bruce Mosher
I've been telling people that another place to put the Rod Rocker 2 on a portable ice house is on the front part of the seat. Alot of the Portables have a fold down swivel seat. If you look at the very front of the seat (side that faces the outward) their is just enough of a plastic lip to drill your 2 holes and place a Rod Rocker 2 with a rod in it. So If I had a 2 seater portable and my buddy isn't with me an extra seat is available for a dead stick rod which is perfect for the Rod Rocker 2. The seat swivels and that way you can turn the seat so your rod tip matches up with your extra hole!I've got my Rods and reels ready for First Ice!!!!!!!Everything is falling in place. Now all we need is alittle more cold weather and ........FISH ON!Bruce Mosher
Corey Bechtold
Good tip Bruce! It looks like you are going to get your wish for cold weather. I talked with Mother Nature and said it was time to get us some Ice! She understood and said she'd see what she could do . It's just a matter of time now. See ya on the Ice, Corey Bechtold

Matt Johnson
My prediction... there will be many more uses for the new Today's Tackle products after the St. Paul Ice Show. Something new always pops into Bruce's mind while he's there. The use of the Rod Rocker on the side of the Otter seat is just one that comes to mind... I'll never forgot when he told me about that one, I use that method almost everytime I use a second rod while ice fishing... Always a pleasure spending time with Bruce at the Ice Show, and I'm always coming home with new ideas and ways to make my time on the ice more productive... So just a heads up for anyone attending the St. Paul Ice Show... Bruce will have a Today's Tackle booth set up in the Thorne Bros booth. Stop by and talk ice fishing with him if you're there, and check out all of the Today's Tackle products. I'm telling you, this guy knows his stuff and I've always taken the opportunity to soak up as much info as I can from him. And in my opinion, the Ice Show is one of the best places to do it. Can't beat a face-to-face conversation with the master-mind behind these great products! I already have a list of questions in my mind that I want to ask him... only a week away! hanson
My Rod Rocker 2's and Tackle Pouches arrived today. I have to say, I'm truly impressed with the Tackle Pouches. The size C Tackle Pouch easily fits my CD6 sized Chubby Darters and the size B Tackle Pouch fits the CD5 Chubby Darters quite well along with my other Rapala & Nilsmaster swim baits. I also have a new home for my Hali Sukkula jigging spoons. I haven't found a good way to store them things yet with those chain dropper hooks. The only problem is, I didn't order enough pouches! I look at it as protecting and organizing this huge investment I have in fishing tackle.
ivegottabite
Bruce, it's amazing the products that you come up with! They truly do make fishing easier for fisherman!! I will have to pick some things up at the ice show, those pouches look great. I know I had a few issues with spoons coming unhooked while in my Revolution, got a few snags that didn't make me too happy. The tackle pouches should do the trick nicely
