Ok, you guys that were calling for the aging Brad got your wish. Brad isn't going to make a lick of difference and you know it. I have a feeling Johnsons seasons will also be over in the first half of next weeks game. I can now sit back and laugh at all you CPep haters.

Mn has nothing to lose and just might win a few here. For sure they were going no where..I was one yelling for Brad and when the dust settles I will still be here. As a matter of fact I will make a point of watching the Vikes next week. I will wager that a few more fans may click on the TV to watch Brad and see what happens...

give johnson a chance, or at least a week with the first team in practice before making any judgement.

with the vike o-line, no quarterback who has ever played the game could be successfull, and the sacks allowed and rushing stats for the vikes this year prove that.

watch out somebody is going to get killed behind that vikes line!

How much persuading do you think it took for the coaches to talk Brad into stepping behind that O line? He knows that is probably the worst place in the league to stand with the exception of the spot that David Carr occupies in Houston.

Brad is going to take alot of hits, Culpepper did and he had the ability to run. Brad is a stationary target for the most part. God Speed to him.

C-Pepp also didn't know how to pull the trigger 90% of the time behind that line. When they showed the replays almost every single one had atleast one reciever open if not 2.

Brad Johnson can be one of those drop step quick pass players and start creating a quicker offense.

The receivers are good recievers and fast at that, so they will get open, just give them a chance. And what happened to the use of Wiggy, I cant recall one pass going his way in the game.

Williamson as a deep threat is going to be almost non-exisistent though. If a Defense knows it is going to be short throws they are going to be able to adjust to that. I hope you all don't expect Brad Johnson to be the salvation of this team. The vikes are bad and are not going to make the playoffs, even if they pull of a miracle come back do you think they are going to go on the road in the playoffs and beat someone?

As a team they are probably better off being a 4-6 win team and getting a good draft pick and come back next year with new coaches maybe a few new players and then see what happens.

Brad Johnson is by no way a savior, and there are 50 better options out there in the league, but still what everyone wants is a constant at qb, not a great game here or there are terrible ones in between.

C-Pepp had all the talent but he will never be a great qb, as in winning huge games.

He was not worth that huge contract they gave him, unless he stayed with his mvp type seasons every year. I dont know about everyone else but a Philip Rivers is a perfect fit into our offense, and he is not needed over in SD. Wont happen but I can hope.

Brad will do just fine to get us a couple wins against the poor teams, but against any of the better defenses we might have some trouble.

He wasn't great, but for a shake the rust off game I thought he did fine. We will see how he does when they don't run the ball as well. Part of the reason he didn't have that many yards is because they were running the ball so well. Also williamson dropped about 40 yds and a TD on a perfect pass. I think Brad did a good job managing the game.

I agree- steady if not spectacular.. He does not make many mistakes. If the line gives him time in the pocket, and they can establish a running attack, they could actually reel off a few W's. But not against the New York Football Giants. It is going to be ugly, my friends. I will say down by 14 after Giants first two possesions, and trailing by 21 at the half. I will watch with one eye closed...

15-22 136 yds 3 sacks 2 td's 1 fumble and gee a win.....not bad for one week with the first string. 2 of his sacks he held on to the ball for 6 sec to long. But when he gets the ball out of there the O line looks good when they just have to hold for a 3 count and finally the o line went forward instead of backwards. Get that #300 moving the right way. Getting a win next week will be asking a lot but...I'll watch... Hope DC is watching also..

17-30 144 yards 4 sacks and a game winning field goal drive with 10 seconds left. Hmmm 2 starts and 2 wins.. Special teams won this game.. But boy what a game to watch when you already have it down for a loss like everyone else who watches football.... I think I look pretty good calling for a chance for Brad to take some snaps.. Might be the best defense in the NFL right now with a fierce pass rush and he walked away...with a win

Brad Johnson did not win that game. Those numbers where Joey Harrington type numbers. If I had to say anything I would say defense and special teams won that game. Special temas had almost 400 yards. And the Defense gave the offense the ball on the 20 yd line twice but Johson couldn't get the ball in the endzone.

I agree Johnson didn't lose the game but he sure as heck didn't win it for us. He is not our salvation, C-pep will be back and he would have been able to do exactly what Brad has done over the last 2 1/2 games.

I'm with you!! Brad Johnson had a terrible game, weak arm!! I'll give him credit for getting the team down the field at the end of the game when it mattered most though! Our defense and special teams won/stole that game.

Hmmm 2 starts and 2 wins.. Special teams won this game.. I would have like to seen DC with that pass rush and trying to hold the ball for 5 count while he was looking at the D As Bud Grant would say a win is a win and a loss is a loss no one remembers the score... I see 2 wins and I hope DC sees what can be done when you get the ball out. You don't have to throw the ball 40 yards down the field, 10 gets ya a first down from Pop Warner to the Pros.. Brad is not the future of MN football DC is if he can learn to improve his game.

He's never had a good arm and now that he's washed up it's worse, I do give him credit for realizing this and on this team right now it may be better to have a QB that try's not to lose a game "brad Johnson" versus a QB that try's to win games "D Cullpepper"......we are bad guys and if the Vikes could good of stopped the Giants on that 2 point conversion to tie the game we would had ended up with the worst offensive performance in NFL HISTORY.... grin.gif

Just a note to make us all feel better....

Pickett from San Francisco was 1-13 for 28 yds, 1 pick and 2 fumbles yesterday. Yes, he played the whole game. That was it for SF, one comp. for 28 yards. It sure makes you appreciate Brad a little more.

In defense of Pickett, not many passes where going to be completed in that wind they played in. Not sure if anyone saw footage of pre game warm up for that game. They showed some last night during MNF. While the recievers warmed up 10 yard passes would end up getting blown atleast 5 yards of line. I bet there wasn't a completion made of more then a few yards in that game. The ball was actually getting blown off the field when it was set by the ref to start a play.
