Questions for Windy

Down to Earth

Recommended Posts

Windy,

I know you pretty much only post to incite the Twins faithful on here. It actually pretty common between the Pack/Vike faithful over on the football forum and makes for some good reading and debate. But just in case you actually believe much of what you write I have some questions for you; some from others I seen posted and some from me.

1. Why do only use wins now to determine who is the best pitcher? A while back you were using ERA, but now all of a sudden that doesn't matter? Is it because Santana's is now better that Garland and Bueurhle? Why do you not take into consideration that both have more losses than Santana as another mentioned. Also as mentioned do you consider Clemans a worse pitcher than say Jeff Francis of the Rockies because he has 2 less wins? even though Clemans has more innings pitched, more strikeouts and a ERA over 3 points better?

2. Obviously you must now put Lee from Cleveland as being #2 in the Cy Young voting as he is ahead of both Garland and Buerhle with 18 wins. Are you now saying Garland should be #3 in the voting and Buerhle should not even be mentioned? Or do you still have them as #2 & #3 respectively?

3. If Buerhle is so much better as a pitcher than Johan why in their 2 head to head meetings this year was Johan the winning pitcher and Buerhle the loser? Surlely Buerhle should have been able to pull out a win against the worst run scoring team in the AL, when pitching against their ace.

4. Using your criteria of total season wins for determining who's a better pitcher why would a manager start their 3rd best pitcher the first game of a playoff series? Shouldn't Garland be getting the start? Most managers throw the ACE of he staff game 1, knowing they can be counted on.

5 Great players, no matter what sport, rise to the occasion at the end of the season and help lead their teams into the post season on a strong momentum swing. Can you explain why if they are so great why Buehrle won only 6 of his last 16 starts and Garland has won only 2 of his last 11.

6. Also you never have answered my question about being a Bears fan. If you are why do you never post in the football forum about the Bears? Is it because they aren't as successful.

7. And finally why is your posting numbers a direct correlation with the Sox success? The Sox win you come on here and brag, brag brag, yet when the Sox are slumping you are no where to be found? You can hardly carry on a baseball topic discussion unless your bragging things up.

I look forward to your answers.

This is the best post that has been made in the BB forum! I applaud DTE for the effort it took to get Windy to answer some relatively easy questions that I'm sure won't be easy for him to answer! I bet, I mean guarantee everybody that Windy will NOT answer every one of those questions... I just don't have faith in his character as a person... it just hasn't come through in any of these threads... No humility, a very smallish sense of humor, belittles everything others do well or just plain ignores it and does his best to swerve everything in his favor without ever handing out praise. Like I said gentleman and Windy, he will not answer all of your questions. blush.gif

could we get a standing ovation going here for DTE!!! well said, I dont it could have been said anybetter. As far as response, I think he has it nailed with the "Rope a Dope", hes gonna twist this thread into another direction to deter the humilation just brought upon him.

THE TRUTH IS IN THE NUMBERS! You can put that on the board!

He doesn't have the knowledge or courage to respond in an intelligent manner. Some other facts:

1. Regardless of what he says, he was in hiding and a cold sweat that the Sox would lose it.

2. Discussing anything with him is like arguing with a 2 year old, they just don't understand facts.

3. He is probably just a "fair weather fan" as we had never heard from him before and as soon as his Sockies get their tails kicked in the playoffs he will probably go away.

4. The best way to deal with him is to ignore him and all of his ridiculous posts.

At least Commanche Jim admitted he was worried and may someday get the fortitude to speak his own mind and not just agree with the Windbag.

Looks like you were dead-on with your guarantee Buzzsaw and your assessment of why we would get no answers. It's so easy to brag when things are good and yet run and hide like a coward when the tough questions are asked.

DTE, with all due respect.........but what's gonna happen when the Sox win everything and Contreras wins the Cy Young?

Will you become a Sox fan?

Here's Santana's last game vs. the Sox:

No Decision. Here was his #'s

8.0 IP 4H 1R 1ER 1BB 3SO 1HR

His Opposition that game, Brandon McCarthy:

8.0 IP 4H 1R 1ER 1BB 4SO 1HR

Looks like our rookie outpitched last years Cy Young.

And this looks like Santana's last start against the Sox for a while. He's getting traded to the Mets......

Jim,

With all due respect you need to follow my posting a little better.

I have said in this forum that I would be going for the Sox once they reach the post season as I like to see divisional team succeed if my team isn't in it. The main reason I'm going for the Indians in their series against the Sox right now is I'd like to see two Central teams in the post season.

I have also said, that I'm not surprised that Contreras has emerged as the true ace of the staff during the second half of the season. I fully believe he should be starting game 1 for the Sox next week.

I have also praised your young pitching prospect McCarthy.

And I guarentee the Twins will not trade Santana to the Mets or anybody. And if your saying McCarthy out pitched Santana simply because he recorded 1 more strike out you are really splitting hairs, to make your guy look better. To me it was a pretty even duel of 2 great young pitchers.

Looks like Commanche has been nipping at the same bottle as Windy.

Jim,

You address the Santana question by posting the stats from one game. Hardly seems fair considering Sanatana has 30+ starts. You also forgot to mention that the Sox were close to full strength for the game and the Twinks were starting 5 guys you spent the season in Triple AAA.

I know you are a fan but where in the world did you get that trade rumor. First, I heard of it.

You are right. Your silence in response to the questions posed to you spoke more volumns than you could ever think. And if you would follow the thread, I was following up a post from Jim. You simply no longer are worth the effort.

Windbag get a job and do something creative for society. You are a disgrace to Chicago and the State of Illinois. I have been trying to decide whether you are a FISH or a FIB, but I have finally decided that to class you as either would be a total disgrace to the rest of the Sate of Illinois.

DTE and Pepin,

Now simmer down boys, don't go gettin' your Twinkie undies in a bunch. I keep saying that DTE was correct in his statement before he even started asking his 7 questions. This is all just good fun smack talking. I have been doing this since I was 10 years old back in 1969, except then it was with my best friend who was a die hard Cub fan. I took pipe for about 5 months of the season as my Pale Hose were one of the worst teams that year, losing I think about a 100 games. He gave it to me pretty good with the Cubbies on fire but I was the one with the last laugh as I quickly became a Met fan (much like you guys becoming Injun fans this year) I took your collective pipe for the past three years as the Twinks gave my beloved the "beat down" so now the shoe is on the other foot for a year. Who knows what will happen next year, maybe the Twinks will bounce back, though I doubt it. I think we will both be in the rear view mirror of the Injuns if they put together a whole year like they put together this past two months. With their top 6 guys hitting .300 I think we will both have out work cut out for us. You guys have to learn to relax and just keep shoveling no matter how high the manure pile gets. That's the fun of sports! I have been smack talking for 35 years and it is what keeps a season interesting. Don't stop on my behalf, but don't let it bother you as much as it seems to. Just keep telling yourself...It's only a game!

YOU CAN PUT IT ON THE BOARD...YES!

Except of course, the break you took when your team was sweating it out. You would be a lot easier to take if you were a little more consistent and backed up your own statements with a little support for your thinking. Instead you come back with a insult and/or cryptic statement that deflects the challenge to your statement. I only have one question for you. If everyone sees the world differently than you (including the reasonable people around here), at what point do you think it might be you who is off base?

I read these posts yesterday, but didn't have time to respond. If I would have written, I would have addressed Windy and said that instead of the judge claiming the witness was being badgered, the judge would probably instruct the witness to please answer the questions. That is what would please this court.

We all know that opinions are meaningless, and smack talk doesn't hurt, but then when the facts are known, the smack talk either becomes truth or fiction. And nobody wants to listen to lies from a fiction writer. So, unless the fiction writer will own up to the fact that he may have been mistaken, he becomes persona non grata and will end up being ignored.

I don't know what it means, but "the truth will set you free" is in here somewhere between opinion and smack talk.

Windy, methinks we just want it to be a 2-way street. So it's gonna cost you if you keep driving the wrong way on a one-way street. I know you're smarter than that. I look forward to next year already-with or without you. (As always for us Cub fans, it's wait until next year!)

PS Don't take it too hard - there are plenty of other teams I root against for different reasons but this year I found a whole lot of them to root against the Sox. Maybe next year will be different.

Geno, poor Geno.

Bought a ticket on the Little Injun That Could...NOT!

I think I can.

I think I can.

I guess I can't.

Clevland Rocks...NO..Cleveland ROTS!

Which band wagon are you gonna park your fanny on now, Geno?

Bo Sox...Yanks...Or (gasp) Maybe the Cardinals??? Hearts are breaking all over "boys town" if you root for the Red Birds Mi Amigo.

Come on Geno, There is still room to hop onto the bus headed for THE CELL, pay no attention to the guys with handcuffs on their belts sitting at the front of the bus.

YOU CAN PUT IT ON THE BOARD...YES!

even though we all hate the sux, they represent the central division, so we should all back them.

what I hate the most is the announcers for the white sox games, these are the most arrougant people I have ever heard. I just hope there fans are not the same.

I will be watching the games, and even though I am a true hard twins fan, go white sox!

Naw, really not me partner! I want whoever is playing the White Sox to punish them. I see some high scoring games vs the Red Sox.

RED SOX (the right color of SOXS) 3 games,,, the white sox lacking postseason guts, 0 games. You can put that on the board, boys.

PAPI hits at least 3 HRS.

Manny at least 6 rbis.

Good bye palehose-- you'll be on the sidelines wondering what you ran into. It's called the postseason, something you guys no nothing about.
