Bobby Bass
Well are we there yet? how many will use this upcoming warm weekend to fish or put their boat away? I will be going out and taking advantage of quiet landings as most of you are out hunting or watching the Vikes and I guess a few are watching the Packers. Looks there is going to be a good week of 60 degree weather.

FOOT
Tyler, there is a holdem' tournament at the Sand Trap Bar in Rochester every Sunday 12:00 & 3:30 and again Monday night 6:45 & 9:45. It's free of course and you have a chance of winning a couple of different gift certificates. Also they are affilated with a larger Holdem' group where you earn points and have a couple of levels of play. IF you are good enough and win all the way you get a seat at the WPT. Odds are against you but it's still fun.See you there ??
zebco4040
Well leaving in 28 minutes for Grand Rapids for my Batchelor Party. Will find 4 of us tonight sipping down a few trying to get the latest hot bite. In bed at a resonable hour to wake up early maybe a walk around the woods looking for pheasants. Then time to hit the lake till dinner time. Two more people show up and maybe a late walk around for more pheasants. Maybe some night fishing... Saturday brings 9 holes of golf and 4 more guys coming up and then another long afternoon on the water. Saturday night / Sunday AM Texas Holdem and more beverages. Sunday, recover maybe a few hours of fishing and then on the way home!!! Well 25 minutes I am out of here, see you Monday!!!

Tyler Holm
Humm.. Its going to be hard to pass on the Monday night holdem's at the Sand Trap. I've got no business playing at the WPT. I'm not that good and those "all-ins" give me butterflies. I'll be out of town this weekend, but I may have just found something to do on Monday nights. Thanks Foot. Hopefully see you there. Walleye Guy
Zeb,I'd hold off on the pusuit of any wild pheasants. The season doesn't open until October 15 in MN. Grouse are fair game however. Thanks,Eric

CASTnBLAST
I think a wild pheasant around the Grand Rapids area would be a tough find regardless (:

FOOT
C&B, I would agree that a pheasant (wild or otherwise) would be a tough find around GR. BUT !!!!! I also thought that I would never see a wild pheasant in the UP of Michigan. I married a Upper and we go back there often. About 10 years ago I was on the outskirts of Ford River a very small town just South of Escanaba and what did I see ? Not one but 2 pheasants, a rooster and a hen. I had just read an article in Outdoor Life about the imported "black" pheasants. They are a smaller and hardier breed then the Ringneck and were imported to the lower part of the state in the 70's. Well they must have migrated because there they were. I was totally shocked and talked to my wife's nephew, who hunts alot, and he said yes they do have a very very small population of pheasants in the UP. Not worth the time it would take to try and find them but occassionlly one gets road killed.Nature always surprises!
Bobby Bass
Fish Chub Lake last night (monday) 65 water temp. 10 bass biggest 19" and a few Northerns. Lake was like glass from the time we got there at 3 pm till the threat of lightning at 7 and lack of sunlight made us leave. Lake is really low but with the rain I'll bet it comes up a tad. If it hits 50 I'll try it again. Not done yet!
