Pick the date you think my beloved Pale Hose will clinch their division. My first choice is Sunday September 25 against the Twinkies, this is my vote from the heart. From the brain, I would say Wednesday September 28th against the Kitties. Register your choice today...should be interesting.

Windy I could take the safe route and say the White Sox will clinch after my Redbirds since St. Louis's magic number is 6. Astros have a tough series with the Marlins and we have the hapless Pirates strolling into St.Louis.

I will say that the White Sox should have there division wrapped up nlt the 29th of September and it could be very well sooner. I elude to the AL Central dominance that the Paloes have had all season. There record speaks for itself.

Thanks Tim,

Glad to see one person with a brain left on this thread, but then again, I kinda expected it. We can take it in good humor as long as we TAKE IT! Red Birds have really surprised me, no let down in sight. Hope they won't experience their first let down in the first round like my beloved Pale Hose did vs. Mariners. Nice to see the A's helping us out tonight. Magic Number down to 14. If you do the math, it really doesn't make sense to panic. We have plenty of games left against the Royals and Kitties and we have a few series against the Twinks who look like they couldn't play dead right now. Santana will miss a start and it looks like the air is coming out of the bubble (or should I say "baggie"). Anyway, I am sure Mr. LaRussa will keep a steady hand on the rudder (letting him go was one of the biggest mistakes on the South Side of Chicago).

Thanks for your thoughtful response, good luck in the playoffs (until you face us in the Series, that is!)

The 4 game sweep in the series last year was pathetic. After the Red Sox came back from 3 down against the Yankees to win the AL pennant I new right then and there they were dangerous.

The Cardinals ran into a buzz saw Red Sox team. The Cardinals motivation this year was to avenge the embarassment of last years world series. Can they do that time will tell.

J-Rods walk off single last night in the bottom of the 9th gave the Cards the win. The Astros lost to the D-Train so now our magic number is 4. "That's a winner"

I didn't know that all you Twinkie fans were in bed with the Indians. I guess that whizzing sound you heard about a month ago when they blew by your pathetic Twinks must have "enlightened" all of you. Enjoy your day in the sun, vicariously of course. By the by, how many games are the Twinks behind the Sox? Thought so!

I don't think you will be seeing the club owner completely naked this year, she may have a piece or two left on the ole body come October! I got a feeling that Roger Dorn is still on the Injuns, along with Willie Mays and Wildthing!

Magic Number 13...Going down tomorrow around 4 pm.

Windy,

I guess it was all the warm fuzzies we got from the Sox for support the last three years that causes my feelings. They blew us away this year....congrats. But let me ask you this, why would anyone root for a team that openly talked dump about your team as the Sox did to our Twinks the last few years? I would love to root for a AL Central team, so I guess I take the one that has handled a rivalry with a little more class.

PS...Who is enjoying there day in the sun? I think it may be you and the other Sox fans. Have your eyes adjusted to the light yet? It has been quite a while since the sun was shining on the south side.

You can call us Twinkies but we're still 3 time defending AL Central Champs....and man did we have some parties in '87 and '91. fishguy you hit it on the head the Sox talked a lot of smack and they didn't back it up until this year...the year they stopped talking so much smack. It's going to be fun though for you Whitey fans. That last series of the year in the Jake could be trouble. Cold beer will help your nerves.

The Indian have the Royals, Devils Rays, and Sox to play.

Sox have the Indians, Tigers, and Us to play.

If the Twins do anything better than a split against the Sox these next two series, I'm betting the Indians win our division.

Boy, wouldn't that be funny after all the smack these two have talked this season! grin.gif
