I love looking at storm pictures and haven't seen it listed as a topic yet.

I wish I had something to contribute, but I'm sure with all the talent on this board there's bound to be a few available. Let's see them.

This is not a tornado. There was no rotation. Simply a very intense thunderstorm cell with what looks like a downburst. Still, it's time to get off Lake Beltrami!

I will try to find a picture I took in the mountains in Arizona where I was looking down into a valley where the was a tornado. It was possibly the coolest looking thing that I have ever seen.

Notice on one of those pics is a pelican swimming around. These picture were taken south of Alexandria on Lake Reno on the west end near Pelican Point. As the storm approached the pelicans started moving out to feed in the shallows. This guy was about 30 feet out from me with a whole flock off to the south.

Here are some Katrina shots I got in an email. WOW!

EDIT: Guess these are not Katrina. They are from a T Storm in the midwest. Still impressive.

Those pictures are very impressive, but they're not from Katrina. It's yet another hoax that's been circulating the internet over the last week. The pictures were actually taken by a stormchaser in the upper midwest. They're pictures of supercellular thunderstorms. Sorry to be a downer, but either way, the pics are very nice!

WOW! Those upper Midwest storm pics look amazing. I am always fascinated by thunder storms. They seem so beautiful to me, too bad they bring such devastation to people.

Here is last nights storm... It was pitch black out and had to wait for a car to come and then use the flash also... I took 30+ picture to get these three!!!

Hope that you and the family were safe from the storm. From the looks of it on the news there is a lot of damage on the north side of the metro. Here in the south about 11:30 last night the wind really picked up and we got .6 inches of rain. No damage that I have heard about yet... I am working form home as I did NOT want to drive up to the north side of the metro to go to the office today! Hope that all of you in that area are safe and secure today.
