metrojoe
All I know is Brett looked pretty (Contact US Regarding This Word) old and used up on the news last night. Does this guy really have another season in him?
buzzsaw
Probably not, I think he's going to be helping re-build his home town of Kiln... brick by brick and will retire a tired battered wounded old wrinkled FB player. I'd say this has to be his last season! It could be fun watching that turd that they drafted tossing passes next year...Aaron Rodgers will be a bust, no arm strength or agility... yeah baby!! But atleast you have a great kicker in Longwell!
buzzsaw
The Packers have cut a pair of players who at one time were penciled in as starters for the upcoming season. The team's official HSOforum reports that defensive tackle Cletidus Hunt and linebacker Ray Thompson were among the players the team released on Saturday. The team also released quarterback J.T. O'Sullivan, running back Walt Williams, fullback Vonta Leach, wide receivers Craig Bragg, Sam Breeden, Jamal Jones, and Andrea Thurman, tight end Sean McHugh, offensive linemen Brad Bedell and Joey Hates, defensive linemen James Lee, R-Kal Truluck and Seante Williams, linebackers Corey Jenkins and Nick McNeil, and cornerbacks Chris Day and Leigh Torrence. Our ViewHunt shot himself in the foot by missing the offseason workouts for a second year in a row. He earned the reputation as a lazy player and with teammates, coaches, and fans. The release of Thompson seemingly paves the way for Paris Lenon to start at outside linebacker.
muskybuck
True that the packers do not have a coach, which is the main reason you see all the bonehead plays, "but" since your a cheesehead for life then you know that the people will still be wearing their packer clothing whether they win or lose. Nothing lame about that.
nolte
MuskyI hear ya, I'll always be rooting for green and gold year after year. My post was just to stay away from the Bowl reference and rib those Vikes fans on some other mishap they have. You've slung some good mud, so I know you've got more in you than the easy super bowl hack. Pack's looking good for opener now that Garcia broke a wheel. james_walleye
You werent going too see Garcia in game 1 anyway. Dont think the injury affects too much.
Down to Earth
Harrington was outplaying Garcia for much of the preseason anyways. Will be interesting to see how Harrington does once the season starts.
buzzsaw
Heres some info from Fox sports...Kyle Orton wins more games than Brett FavrePackers fans just love me.I really like this Bears defense. As a unit, they collectively have a great knack for creating turnovers. Tommie Harris is about to become a star. Alex Brown knows how to get to the quarterback. Look for big things from defensive end Adewale Ogunleye in Year 2 in Chicago. Brian Urlacher is healthy. Lovie Smith is a great coach and teacher. Maybe the Packers would have been better off selecting Kyle Orton rather than Aaron Rodgers in the draft. (Jonathan Daniel / Getty Images) Yes, Orton's a rookie and he scares me, but not nearly as much as Chad Hutchinson did. And more important, I really think Green Bay is taking a major step back. The offensive line is in transition without Marco Rivera and Mike Wahle. The defense is a disaster.Brett Favre is a year older.Ahman Green fumbles too much.I know I am going to get many more wonderful emails, following up from this and last week's column. And here's the deal — if the Packers win the division — I'll take a picture wearing a cheese head for my FOX photo. Green&Gold
Its kind of funny because that article has so many Packer fans just stewing. I don't get to worked up about it as I always consider the source. This Schein guy is another shock value writer in my opinion who is popular because he says things to rile people up...kind of along the same lines as Steven A. Smith. Most of what he says is much more opinion-based than fact. Then again, he has the right to say whatever he wants. I just hope his article is posted somewhere in the home locker room at Lambeau Field.I just can't wait to get the season going so we can actually see how our teams are going to be rather than constantly speculating about things that are neither here nor there. The Packers have ALOT of young players this year, especially on defense. Some look really promising. Others are in there by default. Maybe I'm biased, but I'm not sure which way the pendulum is going to swing this year. I'm certainly not sold on the notion that it will be a "Tuff year to be a Pack Fan." Down to Earth
I think Orton will have a good year. That, their running game and their defense is why they are my surprise pick to win the NFC North.
