duffman hit the nail right on the head! she was 21 1/4 inches long and that would put the weight at around 5.7 lbs. I didnt actually weigh her since i dont know of a portable scale that wont harm the fish with some sort of hook to hang them by... if anyone does have a safe way to get the weight let me know!!! this was one of 3 fish over 20 1/4 we caught that day!!!! (the pics of the other are under the photo sharing bass catagory) good guessing everyone!!!

hey that might work!!! the bag doesnt remove the slime coat from the fish? i suppose if you were to wet the bag first it would help. thanks for the idea.... now i just need to find a plastic bag big enough to hold the big ones!!!

Sounds like one great day of fishing! Nice fish, but I would guess if you had a scale it wouldn't have made 5lbs - someone's got to be the critic, right! But since you didn't have one, you can always go with 6lbs grin.gif

I caught a 21"er last fall that had a big head and shoulders and was even skinnier than the fish above, it was very sickly looking and it still came in at 5.1 on the digital. After looking at the photos again I'm going to drop my weight estimate down a couple tenths to 5.4 or 5.5lbs. grin.giflaugh.gifgrin.gif

Just got off the water, four small bass, and it's hotter then the dickins out there. To those that are fishing this weekend, good luck and get out early.
