Lund 1775 with 75 Merc tiller suggestions wanted.

Looks like I'll be picking up a used 1775 Pro-v tiller with a 75 Merc. Never had a boat with a tiller that big. Last boat was an Explorer / console with a 40. Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated.

You should love it. Lots of room, great handling and good power. My last boat was a Tracker Magna 17' with a 60 H.P. tiller. It was a great boat just a little wetter on me than my current full walk-thru on long rides.

I have an 1800 with a 75hp tiller and, in my opinion, it's the best walleye boat out there. As long as you use the trim properly it will handle great. Mine is easier to use than my old 25hp tiller. I think you will love the room and the get up and go this boat will have.

Exactly the rig that I have (4 stroke 75). It' great. You'll love it. Start out with the trim all the way down to get yourself out of the hole. Once your on plane trim up slightly to allow for easy handling. In calm water you can really trim up to get your max mph's. You'll get use to the trim.

One suggestion would be to throw a Vantage trolling motor on the back if you really want to do some serious walleye fishing (I have a Vantage 74lb thrust).

You'll love the tiller part of this boat. Hands down the best fishing boats are tillers. more room, easier to fish out of, just not as easy to drive as a console rig. thats my two cents on the topic

My neighbor had a Pro V 16 with a 75 horse tiller, all I can say is it flys, Oh and there is tons of room to fish out of because you save the space of wheel and console.

I have the same rig and have never fished out of anything as comfortable and roommy. Plenty of room for 3 fishermen and all of their gear and tackle boxes. You will not be disappoined. If you ever want to sell it it has the best resale

You'll love it!!!!!!!!!!!! You'll wonder why you waited so long to get one. I fished in my first Pro-V in the early '90's. I swore that I would someday have one. I bought a used 1992 model in 1998 and have never regreted doing it.

I have a 17' Lund with a 75 Yam 4 stroke. Just love the tiller. Just remember to ALWAYS connect that kill cord to your wrist. It's a lot of power in your hand. Better safe than sorry.

I have the same rig and you will love it. Friends and family will really enjoy fishing out of it.

Ditto on the stern mount electronic motor. I have a Minnkota backtroller. It's great for boat control when crawling along a break line or slipping with the current in a river. I also use it to bring down my trolling speed to 2.0 - 2.3 mph when trolling cranks. The slowest my motor will go is about 2.5 mph on flat water.

Well I've only had the Pro-v on the lake for test drive so far. Just finished up scrubbing the carpet, and washing her down. Will wax in just a bit then get inside and do a little detail work. After that... I just have to wait for the wife to come home with my truck. ... Sunday

Yeah thats a tough deal there. Its getting to the point where if you have a truck people just bombard you to help/ use your truck. I have moved so much furiture for freinds and family its like I have my own moving company.I think every family should have at least one truck.

I got out of going to Sioux Falls for a girls fastpith tourney, but the wife and daughter took the safest vehicle we have. I know I could get a truck but the local lakes will be nuts anyway.
