Trail camera pics. Lets start seeing them.

Here is one I got from a guy down in Kansas.

I dont have much(if any) to add yet. All my cameras are hung on trees with care, and they are a few hours away. I hope to get up and check them in a couple weeks.

Anyone else getting any pics of fawns or bucks in velvet?

Here is the sniffer that BLB helped me ID last weekend. Another Leaf River camera. It took me a while, but he pointed out the budding antler above the ear, and then it became obvious. I've been having fun with this one at work. So far, people have guessed a dog biting, a horse, a badger, a raccoon, and a few people have guessed a deer.

Heres a couple that showed up this week. I love that doe, she has a mouthful of clover from the food plot that BLB helped me get going. Thanks again, bub!

Are you sure you have the resolution setting on high????

The pics look very granular, which tells me you have the resolution set on the low setting.

I wish I was up there so I could check my cameras out. I wont be up for a few more weeks though.

It might be the resolution. I was sure I has the resolution set to the highest setting, but I'll go check it again today.

Bad news, however. The mailman saw a dead buck (road kill) not too far from here yesterday. He said some of the tines looked to be 12 inches long. If it is the deer I think it is, there are going to be a lot of sad hunters around here.

Sad to say, BLB, but I talked to an independant source today. It looks to be true. The big boy is dead. As he laid in the ditch, his tines were sticking up above the grass.

He saw the deer when it was still pretty fresh, and he guessed the body weight in excess of 250 pounds. When he went by the spot again a few hours later, the deer was gone.

The area where he was killed has been his home area for the last three years. I suppose there is still a chance that it could be another deer that was killed. The gene pool around here is pretty good. If it is the deer I think it is, he was 170 class typical. Regardless, it was a tremendous deer that got hit.

On another subject, I went and checked the camera today, and the resolution was on the lowest setting. I re-set it to the high setting, so hopefully the photos should be better now. I am still getting used to the menu options.

I am very impressed with the Leaf River Digitals. In three weeks of constant operation, the batteries are still showing full charge.

Ok, I wasn't going to put my camera out until august but now you did it!!!! I can't take it anymore.......fishing season isn't that old and now I am getting pumped up for hunting already.

Got a friend that sent me these pictures he's been taking from his deck, he's got a pretty good camera.

Patience Grasshopper. One is still tied up with that darn wood duck hen and had tech problems with the second one. I'll be getting some... Got the second one back last night and walked out in the dark and mosquitoes to get it hung up for the weekend.

Here are a couple of fawns that showed up yesterday. I am still struggling with image quality. I need to call the Leaf River Tech line and see what I am doing incorrect with my set up. Batteries are still showing full strength after 5 weeks in the woods.

I mowed my plot today. The clover was getting overgrown with milkweed and wild raspberries. While I was cutting it with my wheeler/swisher mower, those two fawns popped out and checked me over. The noise did not bug them at all. They just casually hopped back in the cover when I got within 20 yards.

I was out mowing one of my plots last night and a doe was watching me from about 30 yards. Neat. It did make me concerned about fawns, so I got off and walked around to try and jump any that might be bedded, didn't want any cripples...

I thought I set it to the higest resolution on my last visit, but I think it is on medium. It showed two stars on the LCD Video screen. I struggle a bit with the menus, I find them a bit cumbersome, but that will get better if I just mess around in my living room with them.
