Quickstrike
i was just wondering if anyone had heard any new info about addressing the kicker situation, i am very excited for the upcoming season but just can't help but worry that we haven't found a solid solution for this problem yet. Pig_sticka
It is too bad Nugent went 2 picks earlier to the Jets in the 2nd round. Is Gary Anderson available
bucketmouth64
Heard on kfan that the Bears drafted a kicker and might part with Edinger. Remember this was the kicker the Vikes tried to sign I believe last year. Bears matched the offer so he stayed. Not sure if the Bears are unhappy with his performance or they don't want to pay the salary. Vikes might just play the waiting game to see who gets released during training camp. Hey, we could always bring Doug Brien in again ...I don't think so.
freebledsoe
Edinger will be available, the Bears signed Brien. Edinger didn't play well at all last year, the Bears were less than happy.

GullGuide
I wouldnt give up on Elling just yet. He'll be a 3 year vet this season, MAYBE he shaked out those jitters. At least with him we won't need a kickoff specialist to take up a valuable roster spot. Edinger had a horrible year, not sure we want to bring in a declining kicker....or maybe he just kicked horrible on purpose so he would be released out of that he11 hole they call Soldier Field
Pig_sticka
Doug Brien went to the bears I believe, he is going to be their starting kicker.
Down to Earth
I wouldn't be surprised if the free agent rookie Jonathan Nichols wins the job coming out of camp. He was a pretty good kicker for Mississippi in college and actually won the Lou Groza Award in 2003 as the nations top place kicker.
beer batter
Keep an eye on the Indianapolis kicking situation. They drafted the guy out of Michigan State (Raynor ??) so Vanderjagt should be on his way out. Big mouth or not - he's still one heck of a kicker. Ole #1
Tice Deserves this year, he's not a bad coach. Let's see what he can do after finally getting some good free agents, and having the same D coordinator for the 2nd consecutive year. We have pretty much done everything we could to improve this off season, now it's time for it to pan out in the regular season.Ole
