Cabela's Fishing Expo

Daze Off

Recommended Posts

Daze-No I don't... I will be there working, but not giving a seminar this time, (at least I hope I am not). They usually have some outstading deals this weekend. If you do stop in, please look me up in the rod/reel section and say hi.. I'll have a Shimano shirt on.

Lost- I don't know... Its the cabelas expo, its just like normal cabelas but they will have more deals, and reps there to answer questions. I think if you are looking into buying some gear, its a good weekend to go down, talk to the reps and prostaffs of different companies and get some questions answered!

If you do go make sure you stop and say hi!

I wished I would have known you were going to be there this weekend. Last year you sold me a nice shimano 7' im8 rod and reel. I went last weekend expecting to see you, but I bought a rod of the new line, im9 (crucial?) 7' for worming. Gonna use one of my im8 for cranks.

I don't have a reel though. Still have same deal if you buy a reel get some power pro to go with ? :-)

Deitz what days were you there? Me and the wife went down on Saturday and what a zoo that place was You couldnt even walk through most of the store, looked all over the fishing area but never did see ya, sales had to be through the roof there, it was unbelievable how many people were there. I personally cant wait for Rogers to open up considering I only live about 10 minutes away, that way I can visit on Monday mornings and not have the whole world there with me!

Have they sent out notices what the club card event will entail? I'm a new member as of january. If its more Shimano specials, I may have a hard time convincing my wife to let me buy another $120 7' Crucial and $120 shimano reel (forgot name). :-)

Carl, The club card is a really neat deal that Cabelas puts on.. If you have a cabelas club card(credit card) you show up and they either put $30 or some dollar ammoun on your card just for showing up... If you dont have any debt on your card they then give you a gift cert instead.. Then if you bring a friend, you sign them up.. you get a bonus of another $30 or whatever it is... I sold a Aqua-Vu to a dude last year at a club card event who brought in like 6 frends and almost paid for his Aqua-Vu...

FYI.. you bought the Shimano Stradic... a very sweet reel... VERY SWEET!... Sold like 20 of them yesturday.

Can't beat the deals there - I wonder how many of their IM6 and 7 rods they'll sell. Got myself the Cab. Prestige spinning reel and picked out a nice Fish Eagle II muskie rod for free grin.gif

I had fun bringing it home and spooling it with some nice 20lb bright yellow powerpro. I know you like to use mono for your worming, but I'll try this and see how it works. I've had great success with the green powerpro. But with the yellow powerpro i may be able to see the line move easier. Hopefully won't turn off the fish.

Carl- To each thier own man... what works for you, you stick with! Always do what is best for you and you will catch more fish. You may not see a drop in bites at all with the hi vis line. Or you might... worse case senario you just bring a dark blue or black sharpie marker in the boat... I may go with the blue, it may turn the line green then? and then only color the last 5 feet or so..

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
