burl
Hapened to be at sportsmans warehouse on saturday all of the units there had the the same problem,as soon as you opened the box up it would not close. It looks more like a design issue than shrinkage. There is no ribbing in this area to keep the box supported or from sinking in in this area. It's a good idea but it needs some more tweeking to be a quality product.Burl. ice_shack
Thanks Ted, I called your company and got a no-hassel response. The gal said my replacement would be in the mail today. My opinion just did a full 180. That's the way business should be done!
Dan Wood
Now that is great customer service when the president himself comes on and offers a correction to the problem. Great to see you online here Ted, thanks for clearing that up.

Buford T
I also bought a grub getter that wouldn't close, but I figured out a trick to close it. Don't try snap both sides at once. First of all, make sure there isn't sawdust on the gasket, then grab the thing with your right hand, thumb on top, and hinge to the right. You should be able to squeeze it together with the side closest to you snapping shut first, and then try to snap the other side together. I can't verify this works when it's 5 degrees outside, but then again, the box and my waxies are warm and pretty close to my body at that time anyway. Captain B.R.K
Quote:First of all, I want to apologize to those who have had a bad exerience with the new Lindy Grub Getter. It is a very good product concept and unfortunately, some of the boxes do not close properly. Some of the boxes were taken out of the mold too soon and the shrinkage caused it to warp. When they do close properly, the Grub Getter is very handy for sorting the sawdust from the grubs and having something to store them in.Lindy stands behind all of our products. I welcome the opportunity to replace your faulty Grub Getter with one that works. Please call our office at 218-829-1714 to get a replacement.Ted TakasakiPresidentLindy Fishing Tackle WOW- that is all I can say! Welcome Mr.Takasaki! A true leader in the fishing industry. Thank you for your comments and hopefully you will have some happier customers with your post!
Wish2Fish
I said I really like the Lindy brand. Ted's response is just one more reason to support this brand! That's pure class.
jigginjim
Thanks Ted, Working with Gander, I have not had anyone return a grub getter yet. So far the only thing 1 customer said "I wish there was a small cover to keep the sawdust from blowing out. I suggested a piece of duct tape over one side. He came back and said "it worked great."Mr. Takasaki, Thanks again.
nitroant
Just called Lindy. My new one is in the mail, lets hope this one works. Its nice to see a company stand behind their products. I too wish the holes were a bit smaller so the grubs didn't sift through as well, but other wise I like mine. I was able to carve away parts of the plastic to get mine to work, but a new one will be better. THANKS LINDY!!!
Northlander
I called today and Roxie sent me out my replacement today. Now thats GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE! Not much of that type service these days. Mr.T. thanks again for all your help and being a grade A stand up guy! I will remember this in the future when buying fishing related products believe me. ice_shack
Just wanted to say thanks again Ted, Called Monday and my replacement Grub Getter was at the house when I got home Tuesday along with a Gold Medal Supreme Float that I am kind of excited to try. But I have to admit I am starting to feel a little guilty. I was playing around with my new one last night and I don't think I was shutting it right or maybe it's just the new one isn't cold. I am just wondering if the one I bought and threw away in disgust was still good.
Kodiak
Mr. Takasaki is very generous i just hope people that didnt purchase a grub getter call him and get a free one, that would be abusing is his offer to reconcile with people that had problems. I might not even call him myself because i threw my first one away after it hit the floor at about the same speed as a mlb fastball. You have to send in an exchange right?
ice_shack
No, they didn't ask for one. I had thrown mine away and wouldn't been able to exchange. I guess I would have been OK with that. My opinion was already changed by just having the offer. I pay for almost everything with a check card and keep receipts back 1 year so I know I would probably have that to prove it. Northlander
Yes, please dont abuse the show of loyalty by Lindy and Ted! This kind of loyalty to customers isnt seen much these days and Lindy needs to be applauded! Great job Guys!!!
Ed Carlson
Lindy makes great products and not many would argue they do not. Developing new products often will show a snag or two and the real show of a class product is the ability to stand behind all the products when problems arise such as this. Well done Lindy! Due to my little temper tantrum with my misbehaving “Grub Getter” I do not feel right to ask for a replacement. I’ll write that one off as a lesson on wise anger management Eh. I would like to offer some constructive feedback to the good folks at Lindy, if I may. I think if they add a cross brace to the box it may solve the molding issue, and add the capacity to store 2 types of grubs in the same box. What do you guys and galls think, do 2-sides (left and Right)have any advantages for the grub users?
ice_shack
Yes to the 2 sides and the ability to adjust the hole size would be nice. Because right now you can't use it for euros.
packattack
I have to argree. I didn't buy one because I would need 2 of them because I always take both spikes and waxes. This would probably make me think twice about buying one.
PERCHJR
"WOW" Welcome Ted, this is great, now we have a true professional on here instead of all us wannabeees!!! Dano2
heh, heh, one of the lock tabs broke on mine right away before even useing it once. seems you have to fiddle with it abit to get it to close right. But still good concept. bait shop near by sells their wax worms in chew cans. I like that idea too.
Kodiak
I talked with the great folks at minnetonka outdoors when i brought mine back for a replacement and they said the lindy rep said they where having a recall because they had some bad batches. The rep said if anyone brings one in, switch it out. So that is what i did and i opened it right away too see if it worked and it did. So i suggest opening yours right away when you buy it so you dont have to drive back.
Northlander
Well what can I say. Less than 24 hours and I had the replacements at the door. Problem is both of them had the same problem as the old ones. I guess Ill just hang on to them and maybe just put a thick rubberband around them to keep them closed. Thanks for the great service though Lindy. I wouldnt dare ask for anything more you guys went over and above by posting on FM and helping us out.I will say that new Supreme Thill bobber is a winner! Buford T
I really think all you need to do is squeeze one side shut, and then the other. I really liked my grub getter after I figured that out. Give it a shot, I hope it works for everyone. With your palm on top, fingers on the bottom, and the hinge on your thumb side, squeeze one end together until it snaps, and then snap the other side together. nitroant
One of my tabs broke off right away too when I got mine last night. Guess they have a new problem to deal with along with the fact that this one does not close either. I am going to send mine back to Lindy with a little note. I will still buy Lindy since they made an effort to fix the error, but I guess this product needs a little more time in the R & D department. I am going to stick with the containers the wax worm come in, they are not that big of a hassel.
