0 fishtrap3
We have the vac 750 and are very happy with it. It has the manuel seal option. That is a very handy option.
0 PerchJerker
A tip I got not long ago was to go to stores like Kohls to buy them - they have the same things they carry at outdoor stores like Cabelas and Gander, but significantly cheaper. I haven't looked so I don't know how good of a tip this is, but those things are spendy enough that maybe you could save a few bucks.
0 klbowe
None.I have found that if you wrap your fish or venison tight in plastic wrap then freezer paper it will keep for at least a year with no freezer burn.I have frozen Walleye for over a year and a half this way and had no problems with frost. Cheap, Quick, and Easy !

0 Gissert
I picked up a food saver (1050, I think) for the Warden a couple years ago. Good unit, no problems.

0 Mike Walerak
I have the V845 and absolutly love it. Don't know how I lived without it. If you hunt and freze fish it is a must have. We buy alot more stuff in bulk and freeze it. One trick is to buy stuff that you can reuse the bags. They get a bit spendy if you have to use new ones every time.mw
0 Finns
You might want to do a "search" in the recipe forum.
0 iffwalleyes
Depends on how you are going to use it. I had a bigger unit that is going on 5 years old. I have sealed a lot of fish with that unit. Anyhow it started to have problems seal it would draw a vacum but not seal. So I decided it was time for a new one. I looked at all the models Walmart had and decide that the Mini was the one to get. It was around $40 I usually only used the 8" bags anyhow so this was a perfect match for me. I use it for all my fish and deer it is way easier than have to mess with locker paper and and bags.
0 SCUMFROG
What about the one I see on tv all the time? Is that one any good?
0 iffwalleyes
That is usually the FoodSaver. They are the most popular and yes they are pretty good.
0 Walleye Guy
It has been said before but I will reiterate it. Get one with the manual seal. It is invaluable when sealing wet fish. I have the Foodsaver 1050 and use it all the time. Anyone that says that standard wrapped food will last as long as vacuum sealed food is kidding themselves. I have done it both ways and side by side to test them and vacuum sealing keeps it longer and in better condition than any freezer paper or ziplock bag.
