2024 gardens

In Belle Plaine where I live every ash tree bit the dust last year. There is at least 12-15 dead ones in the park by my house that the city hasnt cut down yet for some dumb reason.

Yep, that thick new growth on the lower end of the trees is a dead giveaway.

That and stress producing a ton of seeds, one of the things we will not miss about them, thousands of mini trees popping in the yard.

I said last summer that the next couple years around here will be the "Summer of chainsaws".

Those affected are pretty easy to spot all over the area now.

I've already planted a couple new trees this year.

No, but I will be using a couple of canning jars with NON-RUSTED lids.

That is If I'm doing this right, it's all experimental at this point.

Hey Smurfy, have you ever fermented vegetables before?

I've got some Tabasco peppers that I might give it a try with.

And I thought those cherry tomatoes were gonna slide right on by after being posted for a few days.

no i have not tried fermenting veggies before........wouldnt know where to start!!!!

Carrots are huge. Picked green beans after being gone 6 days.  There laying on top of an 8 cu ft freezer.

if anyone is interested i got way more winter onion sets/seed then i'll need/
