Vex FlX-28?

What is up with these unit's? They look really cool but I am seeing a ton of them for sale on the Selling sites. Are they to hard to watch with all the fancy flashy lights or something?

I haven’t heard anything bad about them but haven’t used a Vex since I went Marcum for ice fishing.  I’m still a flasher guy there.  My experience with graphs on the ice hasn’t been great, but those were cassette technology type units.

Hey, if you like all the noise and flashing circle things more power to you. 

 

I assume you have a flasher on your boat too then? How's the side and down scan  imaging work on a round dial?

A friend has a fl-18.has had it for a long time. He tried out the 28 and didn't like it as well as the 18 and is getting a graph instead. 

I don't think the pro view ducer is very popular with lots of people. Especially in shallow water.

My FLX 28 with Pro View ducer works great, from 8'- 50', never an issue. Love the 8 track comment, for digital technology, the unit is totally silent. Found the unit very simple to figure out, not much of a learning curve. LOL!Silly side of things.... 

I find the weed mode, along with low power mode priceless for plucking gills and slabs from dense weeds. The ability to clear weed clutter to allow me to see a 2mm jig, along with what reaction I'm getting from a certain cadence, is amazing.
