Favorite go to live bait?

Any favorite "always get's 'em" panfish bait? Waxies? Spikes? Minnows? My favorite all around is the tail of a crappie minnow on a Forage Minnow or Forage spoon. I've had good luck with pieces of uncooked tiny cocktail shrimp, too. Anyone else do that? The crappies and bluegills seem to like them. Less luck for me with the spikes, seems conditions need to be right or ya need to be in a mess of 'gills.

Spikes are my favorite without a doubt. Pack about 4 or 5 on a hook, they last longer during a hot bite.

Gulp stinks too dang much to use lol, plastics do well also but there are times a spike just can't be beat.

did so good with the gulp waxies last summer that I gotta try thru ice.  drained all the liquid out of the jar and saved it in another.   for crapies I did like the maki minnow and powerbait wishbones.

Again it's the fishermen! I can catch lotz of fish on gulp. Matter of fact I haven't used live bait in the summer on the cabin lake in 2 years

Ya, but ya can't be catchin' 'em and pouring it down their throat, EG!!  

 

Seriously, when the bite is one, those guys will eat anything! Remember the Uncle Josh leather soaked "pork strips"?   I've caught gills on colored mini-marshmallows...ever try that?
