shower talk...a new low for the "cooking" forum.  Can we get an experienced moderator in here to clean things up a bit.

Ah, we have all been here before. Bobber was regaling us with bawdy tales of his showering exploits a couple weekends ago. Claimed to have been lathering with Irish Spring after consuming a bowl of Special K if memory serves me correctly.

Just got back from our walk with Sammy and Buddy.  I heard robins chirping for the first time this morning.  The wife said she saw 3 of them on our boulevard yesterday.  Sounds nice to hear them.

Ya I really enjoy catching trout but it does seem a little complicated with all of the flies and stuff to have to learn about.  I would probably want one of our resident trout guides to help me.  Hold it!  They got SKUNKED at a Trout Farm?  I wonder if they were shooting blanks (at the game farm) that day??  :blush:

I am seeing the huge tornado near Tulsa on CCO TV right now.  Glad we don't have those as often as they do.  Scary.

Well gotta go.  Stopping to get a Subway for lunch today.  Too lazy to make my lunch.

Have a great day guys...  I will check back later.

As I was showering this morning I noted nine items purchased for use in the shower.  What a scam.  That wasn't counting razors or various implements that you can put soap on.  It doesn't have to be that difficult to me but surely this won't be a battle to be discussed.  I don't need 20 plus guns either.

Deb noticed a robin this morning.  "Oh look the first  Robin, look how chubby and cute it is..."  Woman can say things in such a nice way.  I think the robins have been around for a bit over two weeks for what it's worth.  The first ones I saw I was with her and there were about 6 standing on the road by our house, she must have been sleeping or playing candy crush as I safely, on budget, and on time brought the car into the garage.

Putting together a weekend to fix things up at the cabin.  I've always done stuff myself but did ask two frequent visitors to let me know a weekend that works for them in April.  One gave a hearty yes which is nice.  I'm sure we will fish as much as work so it isn't such a bad thing.  Now just to teach them how to open the dishwasher.  Baby steps...

Morning, Waiting on the house appraiser to show up, she called last night and wanted to move her appointment up four hours, with out thinking I said fine. Wife let me know she had at least fours of prep work to still complete. Guess who helped her stay up to the wee hours of the morning checking off little things on the Honey Do List. Best part we won't even get a copy of the appraisal for maybe a week so we will sit and wonder what she found to add to the To Do List.. Donuts for breakfast, I picked over them before the appraisal gal gets here, what should she have first pick !

Having finished shouting above the din of our Rice Krispies after chores, off to work again. Another .11" of rain in the overnight so am thinking I may plant rice in the garden, and not that cheap imitation grass stuff. ;) It looks like a rice paddy that's for sure.

Got a line on some different feed for the lambs from another source. The stuff we've been feeding wouldn't bother me so much if they were actually eating all of it. It becomes pretty expensive corn considering a bag of feed costs about $15 and there's about a peck (1/4 bushel) of corn in it the lambs don't eat. The corn they don't eat is fed to the ewes but I'd rather feed them the $3.30 a bushel stuff I bought for that purpose. On a brighter note, one of the lambs we suspected might not have figured out the mouth-teat connection was hooked on this a.m. stuffing himself so our worries are over there. No more battling trying to force him to eat. :)

Had to admire my re-sodding job on the yard where I'd peeled it off after the last snow. With the rain now you can't hardly tell I'd made a grave miscalculation with the bucket. Now I need to finish picking up the last of the apple wood and maybe peel some more sod off around the sidewalk with the skidloader and reseed that area. No rest for the wicked.

I'm not even going to get started about trout fishing in SE MN. Growing up close the Spring Valley Creek I spent many an hour hunting and fishing that area in the 60's and 70's. Nothing left for me to enjoy anymore. Let the trout snobs have it. Can't take away my fond memories. :P

lol  Good one LL.  And now I know a little Spanish.  Sketti must be Spanish for Shaghetti!!!     My wife sees me typing to you guys most mornings and she actually thinks it is pretty cool!  Now I can tell her it is acually educational.

Well it is only 28 degrees here, very windy, and the snow is coming down almost horizontally.  Must have about an inch on the ground.  Looks like the middle of the winter.  We have a pellet stove in our front room.  It really works nice.  We then have a fan blowing the heat towards the rest of the house.  I helps keep it warm out there without using the baseboards heaters.  I don't know if it is any savings but feels good.  The local hardware store was almost out of pellets a few weeks ago when it got so warm here.  I bought the last few bags and asked when she would be getting more in.  She said she didn't want to get stuck with a bunch after the heating season is over.  (remember it did feel like summer) I told her if she ordered another pallet I would buy any that were left after the heating season is over.  I went in yesterday to pick up a few more and her and I got a big laugh.  I said what were we thinking?  It was early March and "we" (to be polite instead of saying "you" to her) were thinking it was the end of the heating season????  Now that pallet of pellets is almost gone.  I have a good supply so am in good shape.

I have the day off today so am going to fire up the woodburner in the shop and get some things done out there today.  Good day to build up some inventory.  Glad I didn't put the boat in the river now.  Darn MN weather.

Well you guys have a great day.  Gonna be a cold weekend so will have to do inside things I'm thinking.  Have to think of something fun to cook.  Notice I always seem to be coming back to the weather????

I think Sketti is a little kid term but not sure.  When I was going to sleep last night I felt some sort of flu like thing coming on.  My skin was tingly and not in a good way.  Woke up and I got it.  Either that or someone was feeding me LPS's leftover goop he had to drink before having his colon looked at.  I think I got it from the "Health and Fitness" forum frankly. I will leave it at that since I don't want anyone else running into that bug over here on the Kitchen forum.  I guess there is a benefit to being quarantined at the bottom of HSO, keeps the sicko riff raff away spreading germs and bile.

It's April Fools Day and frankly for a self proclaimed comedian like me it's a day off.  Kind of like a good drinker skipping  drinking on New Years Eve aka "amateur hour".

My dads house is on two small lakes up by Walker and the ice is off the lake.  It's got some good flow through it so it didn't surprise me when I heard from my nephew.  We never can find the slabs this time of year very easily but it's always cool to see the walleyes laying around once they start doing their thing.  It's a great place, only three other cabins on the lake and you can shoot ducks and grouse almost off of the deck.

Dotch- my dad had a workout program he called Concrete Construction.  Shovels, wheel barrows, and cement blocks were used in conjunction with short breaks and not much food.  Some days you added ankle weights with 4 pounds of muck stuck to eat boot.  Worked very well.

Wow! Don't know what we did to deserve it but we got sunshine (on a cloudy day). Got rained on during chores but what else is new? .40" of rain since yesterday a.m. It is so wet we have to be careful when walking down the hill to the barn. The ground is so slick you can slip and fall on your arse.

We're almost done lambing with only one left that's getting close I think. 2 more ewes came in overnight so the score is now 40 - 18. Unique set of circumstances. The black ewe that lambed last night had a set of triplets, same as the previous black ewe. What makes it so unique is there are two white ewes lambs and one black buck lamb, the same sex ratio and color ratio as the previous set of triplets out of a black ewe. I should probably buy a lottery ticket. :D Another ewe had a single buck lamb so far. There may be another lamb there yet as she wasn't finished when I left for town.

Leaves on the rhubarb are just starting to unfold but the petioles are very short yet, not long enough yet to make anything out of it. There is a lot of growth coming though so should be some good stuff once it gets rolling. Lots of stuff to finish around the yard prior to lawn mowing season. I need to get a couple new batteries for the mowers and put some sharpened blades on the one.

Have a  Lion's Club benefit to make French toast for on Sunday starting around 6 a.m. It means I get out of doing morning chores so I get out of my exercise routine. I guess I'll probably be OK if Mrs. Cheviot chases me around the house for a few extra laps. It's supposed to be a nice day, a little breezy but around 62 for a high. If I put the charger on the Silver Hawk tomorrow, check it over and put another coat of wax on it, we may be able to go for a short cruise in Sunday afternoon. The recent rains should have washed most of the salt off the roads by now. Some evening shish kabob might be in order as Monday sounds like cold again.
