leechlake
I'm giving this a whirl. Smoking brownies in the smoker as soon as it reaches temp. I googled it and ended up with a few recipes with smoked nuts in it and then the rest were weed related. Ran into some for on the grill but no smoker ones but I didn't dig too deep. We have a work Christmas party tonight for my wife. She's perpetually late and I'm Mr. Punctual so even though we may be pushing them done in time I'm guessing they should be, at least if we leave when she's ready. I will post a photo and an update on how they taste. Also, I think I'm going to ruin one of her pans I think so I may be sleeping on the couch. I will put some foil on bottom of pan in an attempt in being nice. reinhard1

leechlake
I hatched a major plan. I lined the 13x9 glass pan with foil and also started the oven. They should take about 40 minutes in smoker cause mine only goes to 275 degrees. I decided to start up the oven and smoke them for 20-30 and finish in oven at 350.Issue- the glass pan doesn't fit in smoker.Solution- attempt to jamb it in to no avail. Angle it so the brownies on the East side of panare going to be thick and the brownies on the West side of pan will be paper thin. Being overly optimistic I figure this will provide all people with a perfectly done brownie, some like em thick and underdone and some like em thin and a tad crispier, perfection for the middle of the road people. Also, the foil came off and I didn't want to let too much heat out so I just shut the door, sleeping on couch probably. leechlake
pan wasn't ruined and we were going to leave at 530pm so since it's 541pm and she isn't downstairs yet I will have these out of the oven by the time we leave. Smoked brownies, a Kansas fawn cut up and sitting in the 38 degree garage ready for me to cut up tomorrow afternoon, and I'm heading to cabin Thursday to sit and not see a deer muzzy for three full days!!! Only thing better would be RH1 moving next door. I use the spagh strainer to scoop ice out of holes when I drill pond in back yard and flood rink. It's the only kitchen tool she uses and has never known, I get it. Edited December 8, 2015 by leechlake

reinhard1
Try ordinary plastic wrap on the glass pans in the smoker, inside and outside and there will be no blemishes, but you didn't seem to get any your way anyway. Plastic wrap wont melt in temps like the smokers that only go up to 275. Glad I do all the cooking so I don't have to worry about getting "the look" when things that I use look different from the kitchen to on their way back to the kitchen. good luck. leechlake
thanks RHThe brownies turned out okay but I made a mistake and it tainted them a bit. My concern was that the "goop" that is on the walls of my smoker would over take the smoke from the hickory and make them taste funny. I think I would have been good but I left the drip pan in which had various built up fats in it and when I took the brownies out I could hear it sizzling in the smoker. You could taste a smokey but greasy flavor in the brownies. In the future I'd smoke the brownies again but start with a clean smoker or cook them and then cold smoke them. The chocolate with the smoke is pretty good. reinhard1
icehole10
I really thought this was going to be another of your funny stories, after reading through this I must say that I was so a little disappointed that you actually did try to smoke brownies, and it wasn't just another funny story, but I do have to ask, what were you doing, and how many drinks were involved when you came up with this one?? leech~~
leechlake
zero cocktails, matter of fact I think I'm easing up on nearly a month without one. I seriously thought it would be good and I still think it has a chance. My thought is that the item has to have chocolate in it to be good. If you look at smoking meat websites there are always a few desert items. You have got my gears turning on putting together some comedic relief, maybe a Holiday theme.
