Just Food and Drink

the fork police has given up on that.  I do always like that Reb is drinking his milk with his photos whether it's a dual fork, single fork, cafeteria spork...whatever.

I gathered the family and forced them to go to Fleet Farm today.  Not a short task with a 15 and 17 year old but I just pulled the dad card and made them go.  We had a blast, laughed a ton, and bought candy and dog toys.  To top it off we then went to Costco and had late lunch and dinked around there too.

At Costco we bough one item a $9.99 apple pie.  Son pitched the receipt before we went out the door and my wife saw him throw it in the garbage.  I told them not to fear because I would handle the check out police.  She shut me down!  I told her I wasn't going to dig through the garbage and then I didn't want to cause a scene and wandered away and found an employee that felt my pain and he ushered us out of the store with a super nice attitude.  Oh well, it only added to a fun few stupid hours with the wife and youth.

I bet that gal at the door puts her fork on the right of the plate.

Nice day to grill. Used a little pear wood again for extra smoke. Lamburgers with steak rub (thanks RH!) and finished with a mango-pineapple glaze. Had Mrs. Gerry's steakhouse potato salad and the jello w/fresh strawberries I slaved over this morning between tasks. Aronia berry (black chokeberry) bars for dessert courtesy of Auntie Mar Mar that were outstanding. She got the berries from someone at work and we happen to have a row about 100' long so will be adding them to the food list. Busy day pruning trees, lambing, moving ewes with lambs, fixing fence,  stuffing envelopes, etc., so no place setting in order to evade the dreaded fork police. Some days it's more like a work camp than a household here so sneaking off to have a couple brews while grilling is as close as I get to a break. Note pastoral rural scene. :D

I guess the 12 burgers will work out well.  Are you really Mike Brady and have "The Bunch" to feed?

Actually I thawed out 3 lbs. worth as we were expecting one more person (there were 3 of us) and I sent 4 burgers home with Mar Mar for her and her hubby. They love lamb but get it infrequently. Was tempted to try the burger press today but would've interrupted a female gab session to get at it as well as triggering the ensuing 20 questions so I opted not to.;)
