Anyone find a NASCAR lying around?

Travis Kvapil was slated to drive the No. 44 Team Xtreme Racing Chevrolet in Sunday's NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Atlanta Motor Speedway, but the car was shockingly stolen Thursday night.

According to ESPN.com's Bob Pockrass, a trailer containing the car was taken from the parking lot of a hotel in Morrow, Georgia.

ya what do you do with a stolen Sprint Cup Car? Not exactly something you can take over to Jimmy the fence and just sell. Pretty sure if you all the sudden have a $150,000, 850 hp engine for sale that will tip someone off too...

I bet the look on the thieves face when the trailer was opened would have been priceless. Probably the most expensive scrap metal they ever stole.

As for qualifying. Why didn't they just delay the start of it for 30 minutes for what ever reason, nothing else was scheduled to be on the track for the rest of the day.

They did delay it 30 min but probably should have been more like an hour and 30 min. When the TV cameras are rolling the show must go on.

Sorenson said they never touched the car between practice and qualifying and it failed tech the second time through but not the first. He also said everyone was failing because of the same reason. That tells you NASCAR's measurement process failed somewhere along the way but good luck getting them to admit that.
