Never used it but got Chromecast for my daughter's room over Christmas and it's awesome. Way simple to use and very cheap.

If you are referring to the Amazon FireTV, I set one up for my Aunt and Uncle over Christmas and I liked it ( I'm a Roku user myself ), voice search is very slick BUT it only works in Amazon's Prime service, not on Neflix or any other service. You can always download and App for a tablet or smartphone ( if you have one ) and use that to control your FireTV or you can use the remote which is just a pain IMO.

thx, I had chromecast last year and sold it. seemed to hang up on movies. went back to hdmi cable. the amazon fire sounds like a good way to go when I get tired of this cable again. lol

If you keep the prime membership you can use it on any computer, I have the fire tv and really like it.

Another option, if you're in the market for a TV, is to get a Samsung Smart TV. We picked one up over Cyber Monday and it's awesome. I've always preferred Samsung for their stellar pic quality, and now with the smart TV you just set it up to run on your Wi-Fi and I have access to Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Video, HBOgo and a bunch of other things I don't even use yet. We're very happy with it!

my 16 year old son got the fire a few weeks ago and he quit using it a week later and is back to Netflix. He has all the skills to make the Fire work but for whatever reason he's back to Netflix.
