adamr
Gell won't freeze but I get more run time from a big interstate battery and just don't run it dead plus have a solar charger on it. Works great.
Bothun
I have two Trojan 6v golf cart batteries wired inline in my Lake of the Woods. Gets a long run time. Throw them in the boat for the summer.

Fowlmouth
Had a pair of fleet farm deep cycles last for 8 years. They finally went bad after a ton of use (wheel house and the boat in the summer) Very happy with them and just picked up another pair yesterday. If these last as long as the last i'll be very happy. highlife4me
Fleet Farm's Road Runner batteries are made by Interstate.
Boar
so basicaly for the money of the gell cell, a high end deep cycle is just as good? if one was to wire inline two six volt dose any one have a diagram for that or can explain it in laymans terms? fishing tech
I believe for 2 6 volt, you would have 1 ground cable to ground, the + cable on the same battery to the - post of the next battery, and then the + cable of that battery to your + side wiring. This will give you 12 volts.
MikeG3Boat
Fish tech has it correct for wiring 2 6 volts together.

dan z
Haven't had any problems with batteries plus deep cells. Use them in 2 different boats.
thefarmer
Problem with the flooded battery is venting, cold batteries have little reserve, with gel you don't have to worry about gassing when you charge so you can keep them warm.
