ZachD
Looks like you need to make the batter thicker, and your oil hotter.Try using pickle chips next time I feel they are easier to manage and the batter will stick better.

leechlake
don't know what you did but back in the day I had fits frying things. I was especially bad at frying fish. Besides getting the batter correct which isn't really very hard the biggest issues people have is:1. not enough oil in pan 1/2" minimum2. oil not hot enough (350 or so but I wing it)those pickles should fry up nice and crisp in 60-90 seconds per side. If it's taking you longer you don't have enough oil in pan or it isn't hot enough. Also, fried pickles aren't whole long pickles, the are the slices and they are excellent. delcecchi
And dry the pickles as best you can then roll in flour to help batter stick.
prov1900
And dry the pickles as best you can then roll in flour to help batter stick. Plus 1 on drying them. Something I learned over the summer and it made a world of difference. +1 on pickle chips too. The cheaper, the better. Frying really brings out the dill taste.
