SnowGuy73
I have the Suburban 3 burner top and over and I don't have a hood. Never had a problem, so I'd say you don't NEED one.
elkoholic
Yes! I have one in my Shack over my range and love it, if cookin fish or even bacon on the cooktop it takes all of the smell and smoke outside, i was on the fence whether or not to have one installed and sure glad i did. They move alot of air!
bak2MN
Just adds more weight then any benefit, unless you cant cook with out burning stuff! LOL.
leech~~
Yes, and it also helps vent out Cigar smoke and the chili the gang had last night!
Glockwinger
I don't have one in my house, but there are times when I wish I did for sucking out the cigar smoke or bacon haze.
OutlawBiz
Just adds more weight then any benefit lol. So...you're saying I might need to go buy a 3/4 ton pickup in order to lug around my ice house because it has a 2lb range hood in it!? B-man715
I wouldn't ever have a shack without one. Also nice in the summer to draw stuffy air out and to pull unwanted heat from the stove out too.
RebelSS
IMO, definitely. No lingering cooking odors, and most importantly, depending on what you're cooking, removes the moisture you don't want filling up your shack.
Lip_Ripper Guy
For sure put one in. They are extremely cheap and help get rid of the moisture in the house. Cooking puts off a ton of humidity.
38bill
Good thing to have but only if its actually vented to the outside.
Dozer
For the guys that have one, do you do anything to insulate the vent opening in the winter or isnt that an issue?
Lip_Ripper Guy
The vent I have on mine has two little clasps to keep it from opening at will. As far as actually insulation, no.
