biggest bass of season for me!

The air temp was 40 deg, and the water temp 50... I had 1 hour to fish... and told the wife I was going to use it!... I caught 5 bass in the hour. Most of them on pads that were starting to die off.. the smallest was a 2 lb fish and I also caught a 3lb and a 4.5lb... however this fish hit with 5 mins remaining in my hour(I had to get ready for a wedding rehersal)(not mine, I'm already married! LOL) anyway... 6lbs 2oz..

Did you get a length on that fish? I'm curious to see how my 22"er I caught on Tuesday measures up to your big pig. My fish (my biggest ever) looks to have the same build as yours.

This one was 22" on the button! so guesstimate your about 6 lbs as well, nice fish!

Thanks again, I figured somewhere between 6 and 6.5 lbs. I also got into a couple 3's and a 4lber. It's time to go hawg wild before the water temps really take a dive in the next week or so.

I picked up a OVS 500 da other night down at Cabelas, hard to pass up that gift card deal they had going. I'm going to play with my new toy dis weekend up nort. I was hanging out next to Dark30 in the back during the little FM get together at Cabelas. I had shopping to get done so I would pop in and listen to a speaker for a while and then head out to look at more dream purchases.

one will never know what would have happened if I could have stayed longer... I know one thing, I would have been in some serious trouble. My wife doesn't put restrictions on my fishing often, but when she says I better be back by noon, DANG IT I BETTER BE BACK BY NOON! I did have her meet me at the boat landing with the camera... Good thing we only live across the street from the landing!

Exudedude is the man! Always seems to catch monster bass! (not to mention big gills and crappies through the ice too ) Hard water action isn't far away.

Beautiful fish there, Exudedude! That just goes to show that the best time to go fishing is whenever you can get a chance, even for an hour. I bet you're glad you decided to head out for that hour, but if you could have only stayed a little longer... What would have happened? THAT is what keeps us going back!

Dan- I caught it on a jig I make myself. I call it "weapon of bass destruction". Its a hybrid, bucktail/silicone bass jig with an Exude craw chunk tailer.

I too was surprised of the dark colring. She must have been shallow a few days before I got to hold her for the photo and release.
