Flippn' Jigs

snagger

I'm just now really learning the finer points of flipping heavy cover, especially wood. I bought a number of the Northland Jungle Jigs at GM on sale and found out the hook bends too easy when snagged on wood. Can anyone share a brand/make/model of flipping jig that is their go-to jig?

Odd the Jungle Jigs are bending. Are you sure they are actual Jungle Jigs? I've been fishing with them going on 10 years now and the only time I remember bending on was on a large rock with 80lb Power Pro.

But anyway, since finding them is almost impossible these days I have moved on to Revenge Flip Jigs because I like their head design with the concealed line tie and colors, especially bluegill and black/blue/purple.

I get picky about my rattles on jigs. I like a hard plastic (or glass) rattle vs. the removable barrel style rattles that are universal to a lot of jig skirts. I like the sound better and they don't fall off when skipping. On a negative note, a good shot off a dock post can permanently break some of these rattles off. Strike King, Rattleback, and Picasso are a few I will throw. If I am flipping matted vegetation it is the All Terrain Grass jig. I will usually customize the rattles. Sound travels through vegetation and is often very important when visibility is limited.
