Crestliner seats

I'm posting this because everyone I know that has little older Crestliners 2001-06 has this problem. I just did a repair on my 2001 boat seats. All the seats internal plastic had cracked causing the backrest to have a lot of give. The seats are Attwood seats and I was able to buy and replace just the internal plastic. To replace the seat with something that matched and good quality would have cost about $240 ea. x 4, almost a grand, This fix only cost $340.00, the vinyl is still in great shape and matches.

Did you do it your self or have it done somewhere?

I did them myself. All I did was take the seat cover off of the broke one and put it on the new 20140421_165635.jpg.html?sort=3&o=1

If you want to tighten up the vinyl use the hair dryer on them. Those seats were fazed out in 05 and "New and innovative manufacturing" took over when Brunswick bought them out (china). My dad has the 01 seats, 02 were different than these also but had similar problems. The ones from 05 are no fix. If anyone is looking for parts, you might want to try Boaters Dream in Little Falls, he is in the old Crestliner plant and has almost every old part for Crestliners.

Starting to have the same problem.HTB where did you find the internal plastic?That looks like it would be pretty easy to do & a lot cheaper.
