Buying tackle?

Where do you guys buy your your tackle from, do you have one place you really like to shop for your tackle?

Just curious to see if you guys have a array of stores you use or have found a place that you know has what you want typically. For me I usually make runs to Thorne Brothers because they seem to have good products and have fisherman working there that use what they sell.

I have not ordered online from any where yet but have been looking around and am going to order from some of the smaller company's around the state this spring.

hi jeff, I buy most of my stuff online from either Bass Pro Shops or Tackle Warehouse. This is a great time of year to inventory your tackle and replace anything you're low on from last year.

often i go to gander mtn or Cabela's but they usually don't have exactly what i want, especially colors. If you order in the late winter you'll be sure to have exactly what you want come opener because even if they don't ship everything right away they will put items on a backorder and you'll get it within a couple weeks.

For instance you can get larger packages of hooks say 25 pks or even 100 pks and larger pkgs of sinkers and save a lot over the course of a year.

Out of convenience Cabelas as I work a few miles from the Rogers store, I find that I buy a lot from their HSOforum with free ship to store pick up. Tacklewarehouse gets the bulk of my purchases this time of year, but I do also buy from basstackledepot when the run sales, and the run good sales!

I only buy jigs, swim jigs, and spinnerbaits from Northstar baits.

I was looking to order from Northstar baits this spring as well, looks like some good stuff

I like Thorne Brothers as well but if your looking for more of the non mainstream type bass gear, Capra's is worth checking out. More than once Thorne Brothers didn't have what I wanted and Capra's had it. If Capra's doesn't have what I'm looking for, I buy from Tacklewarehouse. Gander hasn't figured out how to maintain their inventory so I seldom even bother going there.

For me if the name doesn't have "Gander" in it I will at least check them out.

Tacklewarehouse, BPS, Thorne, Amazon, and a myriad of other smaller websites that may pop up while googling a product to find the best deal.

BTW anybody know of the best deal on tungsten bullet weights? Mainly 3/16 and 1/4 oz, my supply has gotten low and it seems the price has skyrocketed since I last bought them.

Tour Tungsten just google them.

That's pretty good, though I just found a seller on E6ay selling 10 packs of painted ones that come out $1.50 less than the TTs. If I needed more than 10 of each the TTs would be cheaper as it looks like TT has a flat $5 shipping and the E6ay seller has free shipping.

Anybody else find any better deals?

I buy most of my stuff from Reeds in Walker. Partly because it's close, partly because I prefer to shop local rather than chain, partly because I know the Arnolds well and while I might pay a little more for jigs and such they've always taken good care of me on large purchases (898cSI, ice auger etc) which has more than made up for it. Plus, they stand behind their stuff and are great to work with if you have a problem.

If Reeds doesn't have what I need, I go to Thorne Bros when I'm in the cities. If TB doesn't have it, I go online to Tackle Warehouse. If TW doesn't have it, I probably don't really need it.

Christopherson's in Alexandria is an awesome bait shop for plastics in bulk. their house brand is very reasonably prices and quality. I don't know if they have an online ordering option, but when in the area I make sure to stop in...

I've ordered off their e6ay store a few years ago, haven't checked lately buy am sure they are still on there.

Kruger Farms has a growing selection of bass gear on their HSOforum, one cool think about them, usually if you order before 2pm you get your stuff the next day via Speedy Delivery through out MN and bordering states, a nice perk for sure

Tackle Warehouse gets most of my funds when I purchase. I do not hesitate to make my time to shop at Bass Pro Shops or hsolist if necessary in regards to colors or extras for heckuva deal. Cabela's if I want to buy icefishing or guns stuff--other than that, I do not need anything from them.

    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
    • I haven’t done any leaf springs for a long time and I can’t completely see the connections in your pics BUT I I’d be rounding up: PB Blaster, torch, 3 lb hammer, chisel, cut off tool, breaker bar, Jack stands or blocks.   This kind of stuff usually isn’t the easiest.   I would think you would be able to get at what you need by keeping the house up with Jack stands and getting the pressure off that suspension, then attack the hardware.  But again, I don’t feel like I can see everything going on there.
    • reviving an old thread due to running into the same issue with the same year of house. not expecting anything from yetti and I already have replacement parts ordered and on the way.   I am looking for some input or feedback on how to replace the leaf springs themselves.    If I jack the house up and remove the tire, is it possible to pivot the axel assembly low enough to get to the other end of the leaf spring and remove that one bolt?   Or do I have to remove the entire pivot arm to get to it? Then I also have to factor in brake wire as well then. What a mess   My house is currently an hour away from my home at a relatives, going to go back up and look it over again and try to figure out a game plan.           Above pic is with house lowered on ice, the other end of that leaf is what I need to get to.   above pic is side that middle bolt broke and bottom 2 leafs fell out here is other side that didnt break but you can see bottom half of leaf already did but atleast bolt is still in there here is hub assembly in my garage with house lowered and tires off when I put new tires on it a couple months ago. hopefully I can raise house high enough that it can drop down far enough and not snap brake cable there so I can get to that other end of the leaf spring.
