MJ1657
Unless something goofy comes up I will get up there and check it out this weekend. A plan B is probably not a bad idea. If we pick something near me I'll make sure we have roads plowed out.
Gordie
Yes, plan B has been In the works for a couple of weeks, but the first plan is still ago unless travel tells us otherwise. The guy that was going to go with me this past weekend just called and said its a go or this weekend . So I will also be traveling that way again unless something comes up.I know its hard to rely on the bait store for a source of information up that way so It is best to check it out for our selves. Mj let me know what time you will head that way and maybe I can meet up with you.
rockman
There's still some time before the event, but as far who's going is concerned, I am out. My season is done before it even got started. Have fun everyone.

MJ1657
Me and Dealer ran up to Borden to check it out. Getting around with four wheel drive trucks is workable. There were a couple blocks on the ice by the islands straight out from the access. We drilled some holes and checked clarity. Water was real clear. Gordie
We are in Pequot today lakes and will be most likely spearing Borden tommorrow. Thanks for checking lake mj and dealer but I'm really surprised you guys didn't spear.
MJ1657
We were just road tripping it. There is a plowed road to the SE end. We didn't see any other paths or many houses. Travel off road isn't much of a problem though. Access has some big snow banks from a local guy busting it open. As long as we don't get a big snow or wind it will be OK. Gordie
Last night I step out side of the cabin to use the outdoor facilities and slipped on some ice and took out my Knee .. Good thing there was plenty of snow to ice it down with. it was pretty stiff this morning but we managed to get out on Borden to at least check it out. could hardly walk so we just drove around and check a few places. should be good traveling just about any where on the lake saw one guy moving a couple of perm spear shacks to the little 5 foot grass humps just west of the main plowed road. The bait store on 169 just North of Princeton called Go north Outdoors should have decoys for us, and I will stop and see if he will get some ready for us. mwal
Gordie,Where does one find a map for Borden or does everyone meet up and do communal spots? I am still trying to see if my buddy can make it. If not i will have extra spear and room in the Qfish 3.Mwal
MJ1657
We usually meet at the landing and pick a spot and head out. When I was up there last weekend I only seen 3 houses on the lake. Just the way I like it.

Gordie
We usually meet at the landing and pick a spot and head out. When I was up there last weekend I only seen 3 houses on the lake. Just the way I like it. The following day there were a few more than three as I stated one guy was setting 2 perm spearing shacks off of one of the mid lake humps near the plowed road and there were several portys set up on the south end and a couple of them looked like they were spearing. The guy that was setting up the perms was driving a one ton dully 4wd and wasn't even working at it so I think it should be easy to get around and when I did my turn around out on the lake my truck had no problem driving through the snow. Less snow up that way than down here.Mwal go on the DNR lake finder and you should be able to pull up a map of it.

efgh
I have speared this lake in the past, my favorite spot has not been selected yet. Its a steep drop off, next to a shore, next to 80 ft. of water. In Garison there is, or was, a tackle and bait shop which was stocked very well. It is located when you make the turn off 169. on the right, on the hhwy to Bordon Lake.

They had a price list up. $3-$
