harvey lee
Not at all rowdy but it would have shown some class to do so. Don't have to be a sore loser.
rowdy
Yep i understand that, but no hard feelings harvey nobody wants to see jimmy win anymore. Whats ur thoughts on jimmy winning another championship? U think its bad for the sport? Fans want to see differnt people win.
rowdy
I even wonder if the drivers get sick off it?
LMITOUT
If they are sick of it then go out and win it. As far as I'm concerned as long as it's not a Toyota it's a victory.I don't think it was a big deal for Kenseth not to congratulate Jimmy during an interview with a reporter right after the race. I'm sure he's already congratulated him in person, which means more than placating the peanut gallery watching on TV.
LMITOUT
Not too shabby.
harvey lee
I agree if others are tired of JJ winning it all, go out and beat him.
Neighbor_guy
Congrats to the best of the cheaters, and by that I mean all of them, not just HMS.Jimmy with out Chad is just another driver, probably a champion or two in his career. With chad, he will continue to win. They are by far the best driver/crew chief combination in the history of nascar.
harvey lee
Don't know if I would say he is just another driver. Not saying at all JJ is the best but I would say far above average.Jimmy knows when to hold back and save his car when needed, other run it so hard, they end up with issues on the track or in the wall.It does take a entire team effort to do what the 48 team has done. Juneau4
I wonder how many championships Gordon would have won if Evernham wouldn't have left?
harvey lee
I am sure a few more for sure. They were as good as JJ and Chad.

lawdog
If the stupid Chase didn't exist Gordon would have six and Johnson 2 (don't know if he would have gotten third this year as I didn't see final points). It is not fair to compare championships under the old system to championships under this one. Used to be you had to be good for a whole season to win, not anymore, its a much diluted system and not good for the sport. Take Smoke's last championship as a prime example, he was mediocre at best all season and barely squeaked in and then had an amazing ten race run. Ten races didn't used to be able to make you a champion, now unfortunately it does. These ten races fit Jimmie's team and his driving style to a T. He's clearly the best at this system, not the same as being the best ever...
gregg52
well old points or new points its the same for everybody would petty and the ole man won 7 who knows would babe ruth hit 60 now days who knows would the US be different if JFK didnt get shot who knows Fact the 48 team is the best in the current era and will remain so till they break up I do think it might be alittle more knaus than jimmy though I think the 3 won with different crew chiefs would jimmy have 7 with knaus I dont think so I kinda judge drivers by winning if they can win on all types of tracks that says alot as much as i would have liked to see matt win he doesnt fare well on road courses so is jimmiy a better a driver i would say so not sure but if you went back and looked at most championships they were probably won by drivers that won on all tracks I know Matt won one but he only won 1 race that year hence the chase and thats what we have today so is jimmie as good as the 43 and the 3 who knows
Juneau4
Petty won several CHAMPIONSHIPS where only 10 or less raced on a regular bases (Weekly) Totally diff. from todays standards.
harvey lee
There is no way one can compare the racers of yesteryear and today's cars.Like tyrying to compare Mike Tyson to Ali, no way to do it.Any way one cuts it, noone can maych JJ in the past 10 years. Not even Gordo.I understand what you are saying Dog but, times change and they have and I am sure they will again.

Uncle Bill
I would guess more are simply jealous of what the 48 team has done and that they cannot beat him. "jealous", Harv... ? Nah.... I've never been a fan of hendricks. I think you know why..
gregg52
funny though most couldnt get enuff of the 3 winnin and attendence kinda showed that there lots of empty seats those last few races not sure what nascar can do bout it either ther nationwide and trucks couldnt even fill elko...lol
harvey lee
I believe the Chase really hurt NASCAR when they changed the points system. How does one fix that< i have no idea as I never see them going back to the old points system.I might guess NASCAR went to the Chase system to try and boost attendence and TV ratings as they were dropping a bit when the change was made.Uncle Bill, I do not disagree that Hendrick got away with something but that does not take away from what Jimmy and Chad have done. Noone has to like the 48 team but one should understand just what they have done as a team.No different than Ziggy Wilf and many others with big money have done, does not make it right but it is what they do and how many of them get what they have. nobody05
amazing relationship between chad and jimmy. Nascar is a team sport to an extent. Nobody can say jimmy is a fair driver, how many times have we seen hims almost wreck throught the years and magicly appear unscaved? I always thought it was just plain luck but my doubts are starting to tell me it's all skill! These guys will go down IMO as the best Driver/cheif combo ever. I see 7 and possibly 8 before their done weather we like it or not.

I could see where NASCAR in the Chase allows each driver in the Chase to throw out their worst finish, so only 9 races would count. Keep more cars in contention for the title and possible more interest.
