Scott O.
Wow, that looks pretty nifty. Found the HSOforum. Might need to see if they have any at the Ice Institute in Sioux Falls this weekend.

kapp
i like the concept, it looks like you can have your bare hand on the rodwhen fishing outside my question is; how easy is it to unhook a fish with the mit on?or put on bait for that matter
CaptainMusky
It appears to me the mitt "attaches" to the rod and you just slide your hand in. Love the idea. I fish outside a lot and never use gloves alternating with one hand in pocket and other holding the rod. This would be very nice IMO. MN BassFisher
Interesting! I haven't seen anything like that before
Down Deep
Might be a better mousetrap, but if there is any air leakage the hand will get cold. It's hard enough to keep warm with good quality standard mitts.

Fred_Bear
Do they make a Beer Mitt? now THIS is a million dollar idea!
CaptainMusky
Gimmick? Idk about that. I haven't heard any bold claims about catching more fish just a tool to possibly make the esperience more enjoyable is all I see.I remember when my old man said a depth finder was a gimmick. Chad Holst
I believe the product is made by beam. I have seen them before and again at the blain show. they are a greta idea, for those that usually fish with no mitts. like one poster said,he fishes with one hand in pocket, then switches hands. This is basically like having your hand in the pocet, while holding the rod. you get the feel of the bite, and are protected by the elements. Sure, im guessing they are not as warm as a full glove of the same material, but they are quite warm. i think they have a pocket stitched in to put a hand warmer in. Based on the quality of their reels, i would expect they are made well. (if you want to try out the most amazing reel in the world for ice fishing, check out their reels when they come to the ice show in DEC..its the smoothest of any reel ive ever tried. I seriusly think i can reel up a 1 oz jig by blowing on the reel handle. BUT, your gonna pay for that thing..i think it was $150+ for the reel. A guy can dream though. castmaster
Do they make a Beer Mitt? If not theres probably a reason for it! Right Mr Bear?
Dylan8351
I got to see these at the Duluth show two weeks ago. Pretty neat product!
ammoman16
I'm curious how much the people that are calling this a gimmick have actually used the product. For that matter I'm also curious if they've even seen it in person.
djt311
I have seen it in person and tried it on and if you fish out on the open ice in the cold weather I think the glove would work very well. Keeps your hand warm and you are still able to feel the bite where as if you just had a big glove on you can not necessarily do that. It is from Beam outdoors and I would check out their rods and reels as well, I found them to be very nice. I didn't get their most expensive reel as that was 160.00 but I did buy their fire & ice combo reel with an additional interchangeable rod and love it works really well. B-man715
I handled it in person. Wouldn't call it a gimmick, just more of a niche product It's the same concept as my mitts for the ATV, which I love in the winter!
Chad Holst
dorskh, I dont rememember if it does, but i just recieved some 13 fishing items yesterday in the mail and Beam also sponsors us now, so when we get their package i will compare the two and let you know. We got the regular black betty's and the 6061's and they also sent some of the tear drops, so when beam gets us their teardrop (which i have used and is AMAZING)and thier elites i can really see what is what. I really think these tear drops are gonna be a big deal. I like the big arbor reels but these things are like butter and they will drop line with a feather tied to them. I just dont see a better style reel for Eye's on the market. I have a date with some walleyes and cats on Saturday/Saturday night, ill let you know how it goes if the beams come in today.
