Next years draft?

How so? Please elaborate and if you can't stand behind your statement you have no business making one.

Truth is without a solid middle presence out there on D we're screwed. That has shown true since the beginning of the sport of Football. You need a guy who can read and adjust and a guy that can make tackles. Please name me a good team with a terrible MLB.

I agree with this whole-heartedly.

QB is STILL the problem...keeping the defense OFF the field is a must.

Please name me a good team with a terrible QB??

That's what I thought.....

There may not be a franchise guy in this draft, but there may very well be a couple. No way to tell for about 5 years from now. The only way to find out, is to get the best one you think is out there when you pick, and find out. There are very few sure thing franchise QB's coming out of any draft. If there is one in any given draft, he is for sure to go #1 pick, and chances are the Vikings wont be getting any #1 picks any time soon. They are not in a rebuilding mode, and they are not going to tank every game to get the number 1 pick.

So for a team such as the Vikings, to get a franchise QB, they need to take chances at the best option that is available for them, and keep trying. Not just pick up a 3 round qb, and see what happens.

Question for those of you that say dont take a QB with your first pick.

If you dont take one this year, when you going to get one? Next year? Are there any sure thing franchise QB's going mid first round next year? How about the next? Or are you holding out hope we will be able to trade for one, with a 3rd pick some time soon? At least this season, chances of picking in the top 5 are realistic. If we improve our team next year, and the following year, we will probably be picking in the mid, to late rounds of the draft. Odds are better for a franchise QB to come within the first 10 picks, then the mid of the round.

It's tough to win with a terrible one but I could rattle off many teams that have "serviceable" QBs who's teams almost always have one thing in common, a stud MLB. You can win with a not so good QB, it makes watching the games not so fun. You can't win with a bad MLB. Trent Dilfer- box. (LMIT would like that one)

Exactly.

He has no answers and is still yearning for the era of "defense wins championships". Kid, that ship sailed years ago but keep hanging on to that dream while the rest of the league passes you by in the fast lane.

Wait...they already have.

still waiting LMT! Let's hear YOUR answers. Who is the franchise, can't miss QB in this draft? Talk about someone who has no answers! Now is your chance to prove how much smarter than the rest of us you really are. Or are you afraid ?

Crickets chirping LMT. Be a man and take a stance not just a pot stirrer like your reputation. We're waiting... or should I say Spielman is waiting so he can make the right pick.

For the record I agree 1000% with juice LB or secondary is our biggest issue right now. We can win with ponder Cassel or whoever at qb provided the defense can get off the field.

I was just coming around to what you were saying until you pulled out this gem of a post. If you insist on bringing up the 2 or 3 teams in the history of the league that have won a super bowl without a "good" QB, I'm pretty sure they had more great defensive players than just a MLB. These teams had some of the best overall defenses in the history of the league and a great defense starts with great defensive linemen.

Your statement above is preposterous because it insinuates that you could replace Tom Brady, Drew Brees or Payton Manning with Christian Ponder and a good MLB and win the superbowl. Good luck with all that.

Not at all was I insinuating that. You're right it takes more than a solid MLB it takes a team to win a championship. I think the topic was having a reputable squad. You're seriously thinking I was saying "plug in Ponder under center for the Pats in the 00's and he'd have a ring?" Wow Big Dave, nice attempt at twisting the discussion.

Here's the deal: you have a much better chance in finding a good MLB in this draft. You may struggle to find an answer to our QB dilemma.

You're right, the Vikings should just give up trying. QB isn't that important anyway in the NFL. wink

My point exactly! Boy your depth of understanding is shallow. Never once have I stated that the QB isn't an issue. There are many issues and yes the QB is one of them. Tell me something Big Dave, is it easier to find a good QB or MLB? And who is this answer to QB you know of?

I bet they're wishing they had a better MLB today...

Nice, you sure know how to shed insight. Once again a one liner by an individual who has no neck (amongst other things). Give an opinion for once, stick em out there if you got em. Otherwise just stick to the image posting, at least you know how to do that.
