Were are you guys finding fish? I've only been out once in the past 3 weeks. I'll be out Sunday though. I assume they are starting to move shallow again?

They were shallow last weekend.

If you are heading to Pool 2 I heard a decent report about Largemouth from last weekend.

Jig bite in some interesting areas.

Club tournament in Faribault on Sunday. Ill try to snap some pics of fish on the bump board if I find anything decent. I haven't been on P2 since we went out.

I have found the smallies to be in the same area they were a month ago.

The largies have been more hit or miss in the shallow water for me.

Not sure if it's been the weather/wind that has made them more unpredictable.

Why is it always windy when I have time to fish?

Well I might as well kick it off with a 21-incher from this morning (if you count squeezing the tail). I wrote the secret word down on the packet of medical insurance my company just handed me as it was the only thing in my truck that the wind wouldn't have blown away. I caught around 30 bass and six northerns before the rain started. Fish were really snapping this morning. We should see some heavy weights in the tournaments today.

What a weird day on the water.

Buzzbait extremely shallow resulted in 7 fish between 16 and 18.75" along with 2 that rolled on the bait but I did not get hooked. One was a giant, made the 18.75 look small.

Crankbait in 3 to 10 feet of water resulted in 9 fish between 13 and 17" Along with 2 that came off and I never saw them.

Fish were scattered. Only pattern I could put together was with the buzzbait, fished around wood in the water or the weed to sand transition on the inside weedline.

Crankbait fish seemed almost random, caught them near weeds, docks, wood and rocks.

Talked to a couple guys in a Z8 that were throwing lipless cranks, they had steady action. Saw them put close to 20 fish in the boat. They said the biggest was 19"

BDawg23, that is a nice fish. Looks fat too. Did you happen to weigh it? What did you get her on?

RRR, I got mine on lipless cranks and swim baits. In fact, the pike still have four of my Storm, WildEye swimbaits somewhere out there. I use the cheaper Storm SBs on lakes known for pike.

Saturday was a good numbers day but nothing huge. Biggest was 19". all fish came in less than 5 ft. We tried deep but not a bite. Now Sunday was interesting. I had to get home for the girls soccer game at 12 so I decide to hit a lake far from home. Brilliant. I'm glad I did. We only caught 15 but 9 of them were over 20". 22" being the biggest. All the big fish came in 10-14 ft of water. My dad only caught 3 fish but he got the 22" so I didn't feel too bad for him. It was a nice short day.

RRR I was the guy in the Z8, I used to have a red Lund Pro V. We caught fish on a bunch of different stuff, traps, jig-n-beaver, square bills, spinnerbaits, and T-rigged creature baits, From 2-10 feet of water, was about as random of a bite as a person could have, couldn't seem to catch two fish in a row on the same bait or depth, but as soon as we would pick up a different rod or switch casting angles, we'd get bit. Deffinetely no specific pattern.

No secret word for me, but i did make it out, might post some pics later.

Saturday was a rain out. Sunday made it out at sunrise and fished till late after noon. Hit three different lakes in that time. Smallies in the morning were on a tear. We ended up with somewhere between 80 and 100 smallies for two guys between 7:30 and 12:30 (quit counting at 60). They were schooled tight in a couple small areas, but weren't in a chasing mood. Nothing huge, lots of 2-3 lbers with a handful in the 3.25-3.5 range.

Went after largies in the afternoon and they were a little tougher, had to grind it out with them a little more. Nothing really grouped and were pretty finicky, plucked 22 lbs for our big five out of the thickest coontail/cabbage that you could find near deep water. Big one went 5 lb 2 oz, with four others in the 4 lb - 4.5 lb range and a handful of 3's.

Had a combo day on Sunday. Shot a few ducks in the morning and was able to Bass fish for 2 hours in the Evening. The Bass weren't crazy, but I did end up with 5 and the biggest being about 17.5in. Caught them on Lipless cranks and squarebills. Not the greatest outing, but it sounds like they saw alot of baits by the time I got there so 5 might not of been so bad!

Not sure if it is cause it's fall and they are feeding more, but I had one or two bass that hit the thing like a freight train. I swore I had the state record on or at least a big pike!! Finally got it in and it measured only at 16.5 inches. I'm like, bummer! I guess they must be eating there wheaties!

    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
    • I haven’t done any leaf springs for a long time and I can’t completely see the connections in your pics BUT I I’d be rounding up: PB Blaster, torch, 3 lb hammer, chisel, cut off tool, breaker bar, Jack stands or blocks.   This kind of stuff usually isn’t the easiest.   I would think you would be able to get at what you need by keeping the house up with Jack stands and getting the pressure off that suspension, then attack the hardware.  But again, I don’t feel like I can see everything going on there.
    • reviving an old thread due to running into the same issue with the same year of house. not expecting anything from yetti and I already have replacement parts ordered and on the way.   I am looking for some input or feedback on how to replace the leaf springs themselves.    If I jack the house up and remove the tire, is it possible to pivot the axel assembly low enough to get to the other end of the leaf spring and remove that one bolt?   Or do I have to remove the entire pivot arm to get to it? Then I also have to factor in brake wire as well then. What a mess   My house is currently an hour away from my home at a relatives, going to go back up and look it over again and try to figure out a game plan.           Above pic is with house lowered on ice, the other end of that leaf is what I need to get to.   above pic is side that middle bolt broke and bottom 2 leafs fell out here is other side that didnt break but you can see bottom half of leaf already did but atleast bolt is still in there here is hub assembly in my garage with house lowered and tires off when I put new tires on it a couple months ago. hopefully I can raise house high enough that it can drop down far enough and not snap brake cable there so I can get to that other end of the leaf spring.
